ZENYATTA AWARDED "HORSE OF THE YEAR" HONOURS

As if there were every any doubt, Female Super Race Horse Zenyatta was honoured 2010's U.S. Horse of the Year at the Eclipse Awards in Kentucky last night. For those of you who have been following her story on my Blog, Zenyatta is anything but ordinary. Just retired, she sported a record of 19-1 on the Track, beating the world's best Horses, male and female. She capped off her remarkable career with her first defeat in the Breeder's Cup Classic held last November. Zenyatta lost by a nose as the only female in the race.

Despite losing that widely-watched race to a horse named Blame, she turned the tables on him in terms of voting last night, beating him out 128 to 102 votes. Everybody gets a piece of the Cake though as Blame still was voted Best Older Horse; Best Older Female though also went to Zenyatta, the second year in a row a female horse has earned the distinction.

Film studios would be smart to start developing a Film Adaptation about her as her story is a fascinating one, deserving a place alongside Greats like Secretariat and Seabiscuit.  The world's fascination with Zenyatta in recent months has led her to a glamorous Photoshoot for W Magazine and a feature spot on CBS60 Minutes.  She also has her own Twitter account and an official website.  Yes, she's a big deal.
