THE END OF THE WORLD

I am not going to mention how that awful film topped this weekend's Box Office tally, destroying its competition with over $65 million in ticket sales. What I will comment on is how Precious: Based On the Novel "Push" By Sapphire continues to amaze at the Box Office in limited release, pulling in $6 million from just 174 theatres. Yes, the film really is that amazing - just you wait your turn when it expands to your city.

Disney's A Christmas Carol (2009) continues to perform impressively, pulling in $22 million in its second week. Also, of note was Focus Features' Pirate Radio which debuted in eleventh spot with $2.9 million from 882 theatres. The '60s era film however, was made for $50 million, resulting in a severe hit for Focus Features, which had Oscar hopes surely for the all-star cast film which includes Philip Seymour Hofman, January Jones, Emma Thompson and Bill Nighy.
