GEMMA ARTERTON & JEREMY RENNER CAST IN "HANSEL AND GRETEL: WITCH HUNTER"

Gemma Arterton at TIFF 2010
Gemma Arterton and Oscar-nominated Actor Jeremy Renner are confirmed to star in Paramount Pictures' upcoming twist on The Brothers Grimm's classic Hansel and GretelAccording to Entertainment Weekly, the upcoming Fantasy Film, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters picks-up with the Siblings as adults, having escaped the Evil Witch who captured them as children.

Previously, Noomi Rapace from the popular Swedish franchise The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was considered also for the role of Gretel but it was lovely and kind-hearted Brit Arterton who proved victorious in the end.  This should be a huge breakout role for the actress who appears on-the-verge of something big.

Will Ferrell among others, will be in the Producer's Chair, while Norwegian Director Tommy Wirkola will be helming the project.

GEMMA ARTERTON ON THE RED CARPET FOR TIFF PREMIERE OF TAMARA DREWE

Isn't she lovely?  Bond Girl Gemma Arterton arrived fresh-faced for the TIFF premiere of Stephen Frear's comedy Tamara Drewe at Ryerson Theatre earlier tonight.  She was amazingly sweet and it was too bad there was so much going on this evening that I couldn't catch the film.  Regardless, it sold out anyway based on all its buzz and loyalty of Frears' fans.  I'll definitely try to catch the Ugly Ducking-turned-Hottie flick during its Festival run.

Below are a couple more shots I snapped of Arterton and I just may have an extra autograph of hers for Mr. Will-W.: Pop Maven readers to win soon!  Stay tuned.

Check out a couple more photos of the lovely actress below:

GEMMA ARTERTON AT TAMARA DREWE PREMIERE

She's definitely a Chameleon as I've never seen her look the same way twice. Gemma Arterton is definitely a name to look out for and she arrived at the premiere of her new film Tamara Drewe at Leicester Square yesterday looking gorgeous. The 24 year-old actress who has drawn much praise for her work in Casino Royale and The Disappearance of Alice Creed, stars in the comedy about a Reporter who grew up an Ugly Duckling.  She then returns to her hometown all hot and sexy and the rest of the stuff of a Classic Chick Flick.

As an interesting piece of trivia, the film is produced by Alison Owen, none other than the mother of Pop Star Lily Allen. The other day, Allen posted on her Twitter page how sad she was that she could not attend Elle Magazine's 25th Anniversary Party as she had to go support her mother at her London premiere. Sweet.  Never accuse Allen of being a Bad Girl because she knows her priorities.

Arteron will be at TIFF this weekend for a screening of Tamara Drewe this Sunday night at Ryerson Theatre, as will director Stephen Frears. Still trying to get a ticket!
