PHOTO OF THE DAY: SUPERMOON OVER TORONTO

Supermoon over Toronto - March 19, 2011
A Supermoon occurs when The Moon approaches The Earth closely. What results is a Moon which is 14% bigger and 30% brighter than normal like tonight. Spotting the Supermoon over Toronto was quite a sight this evening, but unfortunately because it is so bright, my Camera could not capture its details as beautifully as it should.

If you missed it tonight, don't worry - the next Supermoon will come November 14, 2016.  Mark your Calendars.

  1. The super moon was a bust here in the mid west due to overcast skies. It seems every time there’s something special in the air, the weather is never on our side.
