KIEFER SUTHERLAND OUT AND ABOUT IN TORONTO | AUTOGRAPH GIVEAWAY

Nothing brightens my day like a nice Celebrity.  I caught Kiefer Sutherland on his way to lunch with a blonde, curvacious female companion twin sister Rachel in Yorkville and he is surprisingly amazingly nice despite what I've read in Tabloids.

The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor told me he's enjoying his free time of late with no attached projects right now.  And what's great about Sutherland is that genuinely he wanted to have a conversation, asking me how my day was going.  Just the way us Canadian Boys are raised to be.  He then went on to tell me that he flew in only to spend time with friends and family and he had a very late night out Friday, drinking-it-up at a Patio in Little Italy with two female friends according to sighting reports on Twitter.

Despite his critical and commercial success, even aside from 24, Sutherland is incredibly down-to-earth, choosing to walk by foot and hailing his own Taxis in a city laden with Celebrities tucked-away in Escalades.  I asked him to sign a couple autographs including one for my readers and of course he was totally into the idea.  I'm giving away one signed 5x7 promotional photo of Sutherland as Jack Bauer, inscribed "All My Best, Kiefer Sutherland".  You know you want it.

To qualify, you must leave a comment before Sunday, July 11, 2010 midnight naming any one character Sutherland has played over the years.  Good luck - please ensure I have some way of reaching you back. Wouldn't you agree he still looks amazing?

  1. I'm jealous! I'm a huge Kiefer Sutherland/24 fan. Jack Bauer might be the greatest American hero ever. ;) I'll never forget him as David in the Lost Boys though.

  2. Great pics and story! Met Kiefer a couple of times myself and he's a very friendly, down to earth, super sweet guy :) BTW, judging from the third pic, that blonde lady you saw him with was his twin sister, Rachel

  8. Sublime actor, charismatic and engaging. Relished his portrayal of Denver Bayliss in Last light. His acting ensures that any depiction of a character is effortless and comfortable, a refined master of his craft.
    Love his work.
    A seasoned fan.

  12. Well, Mr. Will-W, you have certainly brightened our day! How very kind of you to offer the autographed photo.

Undoubtedly, a most divine characterization was in the feature film, "A Few Good Men." How can we ever forget Lt. Jonathan Kendrick, "No, I like all you Navy boys. Every time we've gotta go someplace and fight, you fellas always give us a ride." Hah! Shades of the glib Jack Bauer?

Thanks again for the offer. Take care...

  13. What an awesome story. Thanks so much for posting and sharing your meeting with Kiefer! And also for the great pictures. He sure does look amazing!

I've seen all of Kiefer's movies. One I just re-watched recently was Cowboy Up also known as Ring of Fire where he played Hank Braxton. Hank was such a sweet character, and Kiefer was fantastic in that movie, as he's been in all his movies! Going to miss 24 so much. Really looking forward to the 24 movie. So happy we'll all get to see Jack Bauer again! :)

  17. Mr. Will-W thanks so much for your blog entry on Kiefer and for the pics! I love seeing pictures of Canadian talent at home, there's something comforting about it. Your blog is amazing, I love your writing style and thanks for all your hard work tracking down all these cool people. I'm looking forward to your work with CP24 during TIFF. I am a Mavenati now - that is for certain!

Before anyone laughs at what is to come let me just say: "I am not a Poet, and I do know it"

In The Bay Boy we meet Donald Campbell, after witnessing a murder, his life becomes a shamble…

In Crazy Moon Brooks takes picture poo, an art subject which most of us would find too taboo!

Ace Merrill in Stand by Me is a trouble maker and in the game of chicken a big risk taker!

An Eye for An Eye’s Robert Doob is very creepy, when I think of what he did, to this day I get weepy :(

David Breckinridge in The Sentinel works for the man, as oppose to A Time to Kill's Cobb whose granddaddy was Klan…

Ben Carson in Mirrors is adverse to reflections and tries hard to regain his family’s affection.

We now wait for 24’s Jack Bauer to come to the silver screen - Kiefer's fans around the world sit restlessly keen...!
