As we're all aware, The X Factor is in development for the American market by Simon Cowell. In all honesty, I've only seen YouTube clips of The X Factor, so I don't appreciate the subtle differences between this and American Idol. So other than the fact that groups are eligible to enter The X Factor whereas American Idol is exclusively solo artists, what is the bloody difference between the two shows, really? Or like me, are you pretty much bored of reality television talent competitions and that proverbial One Album of Fame (no, I'm not talking about you Kelly and Carrie) that comes from the winner?
As much as I'm sick of the format, I always like listening to out of the blue amazing singers. I just think it's a great platform for discovering new pop artists and hopefully people are making the right choices. I'm fed up with previous one hit wonder idols. It's actually pathetic that they actually win.
ReplyDeleteTo be completely honest, I didn't actually "watch" and follow the most recent Australian Idol series - but I really should have.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see The X Factor come over here again - Give it another go!
Oh, how did X Factor did in AUS?
