FIRST LOOK: "CARRIE (2013)"

Stills from Carrie (2013)
Scarrie! Entertainment Weekly got the exclusive First Look of Kimberly Peirce's Carrie, which wraps production in Toronto shortly. Although I'm sure several of you are nay-saying that they've touched a Classic, this sure is looking v. promising. On a Frozen Yogurt run this weekend, I ran into one of the Cast Members who showed me candid snaps on their iPhone from the iconic Prom Scene. Frightful!  Bloody!

Julianne Moore tells Entertainment Weekly: "This Woman has clearly had a psychotic break, perhaps several. But what’s sad about it for me is that she’s clearly sick and here’s this poor Child in the thrall of this person who is seriously ill. And on top of that, they have this Mother-Daughter relationship. So we want to make that relationship as meaningful as possible, even though it is horrible and destructive.”.

Is it March 2013 yet? #WHATHAPPENEDTOCARRIE

I caught-up with a few of the Cast Members during their Toronto stay. Click here for more on that.

The Boys tell the Magazine all about hilarious antics they experienced on-set and especially McConaughey had a bit of a close call doing one Dance Sequence where the weight of the Dollar Bills from Extras pulled on his Thong so hard that it fell off. "I stayed in sequence,” says The Lincoln Lawyer Star. “I went for the tuck. [Mimes covering his manhood] I went for the roll. [Mimes doing a forward roll] And I finished the dance.”.

The Magic Mike Issue of Entertainment Weekly is now on Newsstands. Warner Bros. releases Magic Mike on June 29, 2012.

FIRST LOOK: "DJANGO UNCHAINED"

Still from Django Unchained
Here's your first look at Quentin Tarantino's much-talked-about Django Unchained, with its all-star Cast of Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kerry Washington, Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Christoph Waltz and Don Johnson. The Film sees Django (Foxx) sold as a Slave to Dentist Dr. King Schultz (Waltz), only to wind-up at a Plantation, where his Wife Broomhilda (Washington) is, working under the ruthless Calvin Candie (DiCaprio).

Foxx tells Entertainment Weekly recently, "There’s a beautiful way (Tarantino) found for the characters to talk to each other. It’s mindblowing. You’ve never heard it this way. You’ve seen movies deal with slavery — or westerns that never dealt with slavery – do it the safe way. This way is like … wow.".  "All Django wants to do is get his wife,” Foxx says. "He’s not trying to cure or solve Slavery. He just wants to get his life back.". Click here to read more Teasers.

Cannot wait to see what the never-disappointing Tarantino has up his sadistic little sleeves for us. Django Unchained hits theatres Christmas Day 2012!

TOM FELTON EYED FOR NEW THRILLER "ATTACHMENT" STARRING SHARON STONE

Tom Felton & Sharon Stone in Toronto (2011, 2006)
Now this is unusual! Entertainment Weekly reveals that Tom Felton has been offered a role unlike anything he's ever done before. Tony Kaye (American History X) is helming  a new Thriller called Attachment and is circling the Harry Potter Star to play the Student of Sharon Stone. The two become involved which is messy enough already, but matters get complicated further when Felton's Character dates Stone's Daughter and begins to stalk her and her Family.

Not sure if this is a companion to Kaye's 2011 Film Detachment starring Adrien Brody, about a Substitute Teacher who drifts from Classroom to Classroom, finding a connection with his Students in his latest assignment.

As uncomfortable as it sounds, it is mighty intriguing, yes? Attachment is slated for a release in 2014.

Now that's an Artist at work, right there!

Magic Mike hits theatres June 29, 2012.  Click here to see some more new exclusive Stills.  You know you want to.

RICO RODRIGUEZ OF "MODERN FAMILY" IN TORONTO FOR CITYTV'S FALL 2011 UPFRONTS

Rico Rodriguez & Mr. Will-W.
In Toronto to promote CityTV's upcoming 2011 Fall Season, 12 year-old Star Rico Rodriguez is one of the few Cast members of ABC's Emmy Award-winning Series Modern Family to visit the City since it graced the airwaves in 2009. You could even say it was overdue.

Rodriguez, made famous through his role as Manny Delgado, the Son of Jay (Ed O'Neill) and Gloria (Sofia Vergara) had a fantastic year in 2010, being named one of Entertainment Weekly's Entertainers of the Year and also a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

The adorable Actor was not only excited to visit to promote his hit Television Series, but also to spend time with good Friend Madison Pettis, who has been working on Television Series Life with Boys locally.

JAMES FRANCO AND NATALIE PORTMAN ON "ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY"

James Franco & Natalie Portman on Entertainment Weekly
Although I know it hit newsstands a couple days ago, I just got around to reading this week's issue of Entertainment Weekly this morning in bed, and I must say it is quite possibly the best issue ever.  In two separate Cover Stories, depending on which version you find, both James Franco and Natalie Portman get equal top billing.   We learn that both Actors are good friends after having worked together on upcoming Medieval Comedy, Your Highness out in April.  Due to conflicting schedules though, they haven't been able to hang out despite checking-in often to compare availabilities.

Keith Staskiewicz chats with Franco, mentioning how 127 Hours Director Danny Boyle was unimpressed with the Actor after first meeting him, thinking he was high and v. unfocused.  Upon meeting Franco a second time, Boyle stated that "He (Franco) is very sharp. He uses it as a technique, I think, because it allows him to suss out the room and suss out what's going on before he commits.".

REESE WITHERSPOON COVERS ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY

Reese Witherspoon on Entertainment Weekly
Back at last!  Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon is back after a hiatus, focusing on  raising her children Ava and Deacon.  Also she claims not to have been given many enticing Scripts, accounting for why she's been so quiet of late.

On the latest edition of Entertainment Weekly, Witherspoon says "There are a lot of really, really, really big movies about robots and things — and there’s not a part for a 34-year-old Woman in a robot movie".  True enough.  I mean what else does she have to prove?  Click here to read more.

Witherspoon is just about to wrap production on This Means War in Vancouver, can be seen in upcoming Romantic Comedy How Do You Know alongside Paul Rudd and Owen Wilson in theatres Friday, December 17, 2010.

JULIA ROBERTS IS NOT A FAN OF GLEE

*scream*  Julia Roberts sits down with Entertainment Weekly's Dave Karger on this week's issue and talks about (what else?!?) filming Eat Pray Love.  Karger flat out asks her, "Do you obsess over your appearance?  Do you like the way you look today?", to which she replies "I'm human.  Sometimes I, like anybody, wake up in the morning and go, 'F----, Really?  This is the starting point?'".

On director Ryan Murphy and Glee, Roberts confirms she's not a fan of the show, "I'm not a Gleek.  But I was lucky because I had an in, so I got to watch all the DVDs.  I felt like I was ahead of the tsunami."

To read more from the interview, click here.

Sorry Peaches, I realize my obsession with Julia is bordering obsessive now so I apologize in advance if this is too much.  Actually, no - I don't really apologize.  What's wrong with you?  Can you not see how out-of- this-world gorgeous (albeit Photoshopped) she looks on the cover?!?

THE LADIES OF SEX & THE CITY ON ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY

OMG.  Hook me up with a copy of this right away.  The next issue of Entertainment Weekly has the ladies of Sex and The City looking more a semblance of themselves than some recent promotional shots that have surfaced, and it hits newstands tomorrow, Friday, May 14, 2010.

In the write-up by we learn how John Corbett (Aidan) got his revenge after being excluded from the Sex and The City movie.  Corbett says, "I love it, because I was ultra-jealous of those guys when they got to be in the first movie. I called Noth on his birthday while I was there. I passed the phone around. I couldn’t wait to rub it in, because he was really bummed out that he couldn’t come. I like creating jealousy.” Revenge is sweet, isn't it?  Click here to read more details about the movie's plot.

Two more weeks to go until release day.  I cannot contain my excitement.  In case you missed them the first time, check out these photos I got of and with the lovely Ms. Parker on her recent visit to Toronto.
