2012 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS RED CARPET PHOTOS

Stars of the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards

With special thanks to our dear Friend Saul Porto, here is a Collage I whipped-up from behind the scenes and Red Carpet of 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards. Saul was out and about the entire day capturing moments over at Queen Street and these are just a few of the beautiful Snaps he took on Sunday. He tells me in particular that he's a huge Fan of LMFAO and that Nelly Furtado was a Sweetheart to Photographers.

Although things got a little tricky with requests from a certain Singer's Management to not photograph her during Rehearsals, alas it was all worth it as she looked stunning when she finally was Red Carpet-ready.  

Saul tells me his only disappointment was not being able to get Snaps of Couple Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez together on the Red Carpet - a Moment many were holding-out for, although instead the Night's big Winner Carly Rae Jepsen had posed for Photo Ops together with Bieber.

At last an official Cover has been chosen for Justin Bieber's eagerly-awaited third Disc, Believe. A couple options were presented to Fans to choose from and I think the Beliebers made the right choice, don't you?

With first Single Boyfriend already peaking at number two in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Chart, also reaching number one on the Canadian Hot 100, we can expect Collaborations with Heavyweights Ludacris, Drake, Taylor Swift, Usher, Kanye West and possibly even Cody Simpson and Lil Wayne too. Believe gets a release June 19, 2012 via Universal Music Canada.

CODY SIMPSON & JUSTIN BIEBER COLLABORATION?

Teen Aussie Hearththrob Cody Simpson Tweeted that he spent last night in the Studio with Justin Bieber, an opportunity made possible by the fact that they both now are managed by Scooter Braun. Both Artists appear to be using the same strategy of releasing EPs before a big full-length Disc and perhaps soon we'll see a Collaboration or more between them as the above Tweet hints? 

Simpson thus far has released two EPs, 4 U and Coast to Coast with his debut Album still in-the works under Warner Music, while Bieber's second Album Believe, hits stores some time later this year via Universal Music.

CODY SIMPSON IN TORONTO FOR "COAST TO COAST" EP

It is always amazing to see someone you support do well and that would be the case with Australian Teen Pop Sensation Cody Simpson. After meeting the talented Singer back in June when he visited Toronto for the MuchMusic Video Awards, I was left with such a positive impression of the 14 year-old. He is humble and diplomatic and it would appear his Parents really taught him well. Barely going noticed then, it is highly doubtful now that he could avoid any Teen Girl's Radar now if he were to say, go shopping at Eaton Centre.

Simpson visited MuchMusic today for New.Music.Live and lined along both Richmond and John Street were hoards of Teen Girls waiting to get their chance to see the Idol in-person.  Shrieks heard outside were deafening.  If you thought that was crazy, another 500 Fans could be seen lining-up at Chapters for a Meet & Greet with Simpson.  Those same Fans also had to line-up early yesterday morning for Wristbands for tonight's Event.

Several measures were taken to ensure Publicity was controlled including draping the Autograph Signing Area so that no Photographs could be taken by those without Wristbands.  Above this, the selling of Simpson's Coast to Coast EP at just $5.00, ensured that most Fans who wanted a chance to meet him had their opportunity.  And there were many.  This, plus the visible presence of Crowds at the intersection of Richmond x John with CTV Camera Crews ready, convincingly said that we are in the presence of a Superstar. Surely Cody Simpson was "on the minds" (pardon the pun) of many an  interested Onlooker asking what the commotion was all about.

Aussie Teen Pop Sensation Cody Simpson whom we met back in June, will be spending time with his Toronto Fans on Monday, December 12, 2011. Two qualify for the Meet & Greet, you will be required to purchase his EP, Coast to Coast on Sunday, December 11, 2011 any time after 10:00 AM at Chapters - John x Richmond. You will be given a Wristband with the Purchase to meet him the following day. You must be in the Line-up with your Wristband by 6:00 PM on Monday to meet him, so dress warm.

Note: there will be no posed Photography.

CODY SIMPSON IN TORONTO FOR MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS

He might not appear familiar now, but this time next year you won't be able to escape him.  Australian Teen Pop Sensation Cody Simpson despite not having a full-length Album out yet, already has legions of Fans in Canada.  The 14 year-old arrived with his family this evening for his first time ever in Canada, greeting hoards of Fans at Toronto Pearson International Airport.  The Singer is in-town as a Presenter at Sunday's MuchMusic Video Awards, being touted as biggest Teen Sensation we've seen since Justin Bieber.  He's even working with some of the same Producers as that Mega-star.

Handling the situation like a true Professional, he stopped to sign Autographs and pose for Photographs with Fans.  One thoughtful Fan even brought him a box of Kellogg's Frosted Flakes, noting that this is in fact Simpson's favourite Cereal. 

His Sister Alli quickly noticed that I was wearing a Lady Gaga T-shirt today and became excited, telling me "I love your shirt!!  I love Gaga!!".  Within moments her Brother's Warner Music Labelmate Bruno Mars came out of the Arrivals section too and she whispered to her Mother, "Oh my God Mom!  It's Bruno Mars!".

Simpson did indeed sign an extra Photo for my Readers which I will be giving away shortly.  Stay tuned, Mavenati!  This is one you won't want to miss.

At long last it's on its way!  Teenage Viral Wonder Greyson Chance is prepping the release of his debut Disc Hold On 'Til the Night, due August 2, 2011 via Universal Music Canada.  What do you think of this amazing just-released Cover?  Photography by Smallz & Raskind, Piano Design by Todd Tourso and Art Direction/Design by Julian Peploe.

Although there is no confirmation when Chance will be visiting Toronto - a question I get often - his Touring Buddy Cody Simpson will be in-town this weekend for the MuchMusic Video Awards.

NEW MUSIC: CODY SIMPSON - ON MY MIND

…but seriously, I really love this track! 14 year-old Australian Cody Simpson is just getting introduced to North American audiences now, on tour with Ellen DeGeneres prodigy Greyson Chance. This new Single from him titled On My Mind, is just stellar and I’m excited to hear more from him as this is far superior to anything I’ve heard prior from him on his teaser 4U EP released earlier this year via Warner Music.

The Track was co-written by Simpson and Toronto’s v. own Nasri, who is responsible for some of Justin Bieber’s work.

Discovered on Youtube back in 2009, Simpson’s star is rising fast and we can expect big things from him over the next year with his debut Disc due later this year.
