2012 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS RED CARPET PHOTOS

Stars of the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards
With special thanks to our dear Friend Saul Porto, here is a Collage I whipped-up from behind the scenes and Red Carpet of 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards. Saul was out and about the entire day capturing moments over at Queen Street and these are just a few of the beautiful Snaps he took on Sunday. He tells me in particular that he's a huge Fan of LMFAO and that Nelly Furtado was a Sweetheart to Photographers.

Although things got a little tricky with requests from a certain Singer's Management to not photograph her during Rehearsals, alas it was all worth it as she looked stunning when she finally was Red Carpet-ready.

Saul tells me his only disappointment was not being able to get Snaps of Couple Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez together on the Red Carpet - a Moment many were holding-out for, although instead the Night's big Winner Carly Rae Jepsen had posed for Photo Ops together with Bieber.

Enjoy.

VIRGIN AMERICA TORONTO LAUNCH PARTY AT THE THOMPSON (PICS AND GOSSIP)

I would die to have a Boss like Sir Richard Branson.  The man is an absolute Rock Star with a clear understanding of what makes this Ikea-buying generation tick.  He understands the power of Celebrity and the importance of Budgeting and Style as driving forces for consumers. His vision has made Virgin Group the Empire that it is today.

To have been invited to one of his parties is an amazing honour and an experience I will never forget.  Held at ultra-swank The Thompson Hotel, Virgin America's Launch Party for its first-ever international flight to Toronto, brought together Influencers of all sorts and a handful of recognizable Stars.

With a Drink List that offered tantalizing selections like The Virgintini and endless helpings of Sliders, Cold Spring Rolls, Lamb Chops, Salmon Tartare Canapés and many, many more, Branson owns the term Hospitality.  After mingling a bit, I decided to proceed to the Lower Level, where he could be found sitting on a Bench with Guru-like presence, as guests lined up one-by-one to chat with him and have photographs taken.  I got my moment finally after letting a few over-zealous Ladies in ahead of me and was very direct and to-the-point, thanking him for having me at his Party. I then shook his hand and told him how much I admired his understanding of my generation and vision.  And he appreciated my conciseness  amidst the scurry of young Entrepreneurs trying to throw Business Proposals at him from every which direction.  As if.

VIDEO: JLS PERFORMS CLUB IS ALIVE AT PEREZ HILTON'S ONE NIGHT IN TORONTO

As promised last night, I have posted a video of super-UK Boy Band JLS performing Club is Alive from their forthcoming album on Epic Records. The boys performed at Perez Hilton's One Night in Toronto Sunday night to a very positive response.  Click here for more details about the performance.

What do you think?  Do the boys have what it takes to break into North America?

PEREZ HILTON'S ONE NIGHT IN TORONTO MMVAs AFTERPARTY

Not only does he have the most fantastically entertaining blog in the world, but Perez Hilton sure knows how to throw a Party!  I am extremely honoured to have been invited by The Queen of All Media to his wonderful One Night in Toronto MMVAs Afterparty at the historic Opera House this evening where I ran into a reader or two of my own!  The venue was filled with guests and even going back to the Media-Only room I had to be held in waiting due to exceeded capacity.

Arriving on-stage at 10 minutes to 12 with a silver-tinted Coif, guests were treated to surprise apperances by Snooki and Pauly D from MTV's Jersey Shore.  Both reality television stars had other obligations this evening but thoughtfully came by to say "hi" quickly before Perezcious Music Toronto artist Darelle London did an acoustic set for the audience who had just been pumped-up by a couple hours' worth of Electro . Perhaps not the best fit in terms of music for the night.  London though, is talented and was able to maintain the interest of the audience on the floor.

Although Perez was busy most of the night between hosting the party and filming footage for a Documentary in which a Camera Crew had arrived for, guests were very happy to see Katy Perry make an appearance, causing a Thundershower of camera flashes.  Perry came on stage to premiere a new remix of her fantastic track Peacock done by her best friend and one of the evening's DJs, Mia Moretti.   Moretti's set was accompained by a fantastic Rock 'n' Roll Violinist Caitlin Moe.

PEREZ HILTON POSES IN FRONT OF RIDE IN TORONTO

Perez Hilton, The Queen of All Media, poses in front of a ride fit for a Queen, before heading off to the MMVAs. He boarded this Conquest Knight XV with newly-signed artist to his own record label Perezcious Music, Darelle London.

When asked by someone if he plans to post any more photos of Miley Cyrus tonight after being in the news much of late after a controversial posting he made about her, he replied jokingly "Hopefully!".

See you tonight, P!

AN OPEN LETTER TO PEREZ HILTON RE: LADY GAGA SNUB

Dear Perez,

You are a legend amongst bloggers and nobody can take that away from you ever. I have great respect for your work ethic and your opinion, but sometimes I read your postings and just scratch my freshly Aveda-conditioned head. Case in point, I read your entry this morning on my Blackberry regarding Lady Gaga’s “ridiculous” snubbing in the Best New Artist category at the 2010 Grammy Awards.

Upon looking into this further, I found that the cut-off date for 2009 Grammy Awards consideration was September 30, 2008. Lady Gaga’s debut The Fame we know, was released November 15, 2008 in the U.S. So yes, I do see your point in why she should be considered eligible, but how is her ineligibility a fault of The Grammys? Rules are rules.
Should you not instead be blaming Lady Gaga’s connections for not being more cognizant of the guidelines? That is their job after all, is it not? They had no issue submitting debut single Just Dance for a nomination in the Best Dance Recording category last year. It is due to this previous nomination that she has been voided of Best New Artist eligibility. So my question to you is, how would it be fair to new artists who actually made their debuts "legitimately" during the 2010 Grammys qualification period, seeing that Lady Gaga essentially had almost a year’s head start on them?

JENNIFER'S BODY: AN AUTOPSY REPORT

This past weekend's Box Office tally has been published and although it is no surprise that Sony's Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs came out the clear winner with a take of $30.1 million, the biggest shocker of all is Fox's Jennifer's Body performing below expectations. The film was to be a star vehicle for Megan Fox although it came in at number six overall with just $6.8 million in ticket sales. The film was produced for just $16 million, so this shouldn't translate to a huge loss for the studio if you factor in rentals and that it hasn't opened overseas yet.

Fox was just in-town along with cast members Adam Brody and Amanda Seyfried at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of the film where the media turnout reached record numbers; tickets sold out completely. Warner Brothers' The Informant! starring Matt Damon came in a distant second with $10.5 million in sales. That film received the gala treatment at the Toronto International Film Festival and positive reviews generally. I guess this is what happens when studios aren't meticulous enough in their forecasting. I would've timed Jennifer's Body a little closer to Halloween....

I just received word from Universal Music that the highly-anticipated Mariah Carey album Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel will be delivered to me digitally any day now. Will be sure to post a review as soon as it pops in my Inbox. Am curious to listen as early reviews are uncharacteristically mixed. Billboard Magazine claims it's a winner; Perez Hilton claims it's a dud. He stated to me over e-mail that "Mariah needs Tommy Mottola back". Stay tuned.
