When I first met Gerard Butler a few TIFFs ago, he was on the verge of something huge. The Scottish Actor had just been working on the massive success 300, and took some time to chat with me outside his Hotel and again at Starbucks. Who would've known that this Man would go on to the A-list Hunk who had Autograph Hounds in a frenzy tonight upon arrival in Toronto? "You know what? I'm gonna go", he told Fans disappointingly.
Quite literally I got smacked on the head with a Clipboard or two as aggressive Autograph Seekers tried to get their Photos christened with his initials "GB". Upon asking for a Photo, he denied me, zipping through the crowd into his SUV. He's changed and that's sometimes what Fame does.
Butler's Machine Gun Preacher, a Biopic about Child Crusader Sam Childers, premieres at Roy Thomson Hall on Sunday night.
