MICHAEL J. FOX TO BE NAMED OFFICER TO THE ORDER OF CANADA

Michael J. Fox is back in Canada this weekend to be named Officer of the Order of Canada in a Ceremony which will take place at Friday at the Governor General’s residence in Ottawa.

Edmonton-born Fox is known best for his work as an Actor in the Back to the Future Trilogy and also NBC Television Series Family Ties, is being honoured for his Humanitarian work also in raising awareness to Parkinson’s Disease – with which he was diagnosed in 1991 - via his Michael J. Fox Foundation established in 2000.

Other new inductees to the Order of Canada include Singer/Songwriter Robbie Robertson who was in Toronto earlier this week for a celebration at Roots’ Flagship Store on Bloor St., Phil Comeau, Howie Meeker and Jake Epp.
