CBC'S "BEING ERICA" TO BE ADAPTED FOR THE U.S. BY ABC

Still from Being Erica
Deadline has announced that CBC's hit series Being Erica is now being adapted by ABC for the U.S. market. Perhaps one of Canada's most successful Television Series in quite some time, Being Erica is distributed in over 150 countries currently and can be seen in the U.S. on SoapNet (owned by ABC).

Toronto-based Temple Street Productions which produces the Series here will be overseeing its development in the U.S. version also.  A UK version of the show called You Again set in Glasgow, Scotland is already in the works too.  And the show is only it its third season.  Ka-ching!

For those of you who don't know, Being Erica is about a depressed Woman in her early 30s named Erica Strange (Erin Karpluk).  With the help of Therapist Dr. Tom Wexlar (Michael Riley), Erica is able to revisit her past and alter regretful decisions she made, which adversely impacted the person she is today. She realizes though that changes are not always for the better.

It's a shame they can't just air the original show in its entirety.  We Torontonians aren't that different from you guys down south!
