How exciting. Fans of beloved Princess Diana will be thrilled to know that two films are in-the-works timed around what would be her 50th Birthday next July. The first project is rumoured to be coming from Pathé Films with Keira Knightley in talks to portray Diana, focusing on many aspects of her troubled life starting from her youth up to her tragic death in August 1997. Helen Mirren is in talks to play her mother Frances Shand Kydd.
Charlize Theron is also said to be in talks to star in the film adaptation of her Bodyguard Ken Wharfe's tell-all Diana: Closely Guarded Secret, which centers on Diana's relationship with him. Producer Stephen Evans (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind) is attached to the project and Ewan McGregor is the leading candidate to play the role of Wharfe. Think: The Bodyguard but instead with less songs, even more Drama and... Royalty!
