Natalie Portman arrives on the Red Carpet at the Venice Film Festival Opening Night to greet fans. I don't speak Italian, but I'm sure that the language of awe is pretty much universal in how wonderful she looks here. Reviews are mixed with the likes of Peter Debruge of Variety calling it "a wicked, sexy and ultimately devastating study of a young dancer's all-consuming ambition". Kirk Honeycutt of The Hollywood Reporter is on the opposite end of the spectrum feeling that "trying to coax a horror-thriller out of the world of ballet doesn't begin to work for Darren Aronofsky".
I'm sure I'm going to love it anyway and hope Portman has something equally dazzling for us on the Red Carpet on Monday, September 13, 2010 when it premieres at TIFF.
