BLACK SWAN WILL OPEN VENICE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL - TIFF GALA TO FOLLOW?

Darren Aronofsky's (The Wrestler) latest film Black Swan was chosen as the Venice International Film Festival's Opening Night Film, when it begins September 1, 2010, as reported by CBC. Based on its timing, it's almost a shoe-in to get a screening at TIFF also which starts just one week later.

The psychological thriller stars Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis and is about two dueling Ballerinas, veteran and new, and looks absolutely delicious. Could this mean we'll be seeing both stars in town later this September, in addition to a very strong supporting cast which includes Vincent Cassell, Barbara Hershey and Wynona Ryder. The dance sequences in the film were choreographed by Benjamin Millepied, Portman's current partner. There is still no set release date for Black Swan.
