The trailer for the fourth film from Sofia Coppola titled Somewhere, has just been released and it looks fantastic. Expect this to be a star-making turn for Dakota Fanning's littler sister Elle, as has been the case with Coppola's young muses. Look what The Virgin Suicides did for Kirsten Dunst and Lost in Translation did for Scarlett Johansson. Scratch Marie Antoinette for Dunst, of course (even though I was one of the few who loved it). The film is about a Hollywood Playboy whose life gets turned around after his 11 year-old daughter makes a surprise visit. Sounds vaguely familiar, yes?
Coppola clearly is gunning for an Oscar with the film's December release date and I'd wager a few bucks that this will premiere at TIFF in September.
