CHRISTY TURLINGTON IN TORONTO TO PROMOTE DOCUMENTARY "NO WOMAN, NO CRY"

California-born Supermodel Christy Turlington made a very low-key visit to Toronto today to promote her debut documentary No Woman, No Cry as part of the G(irls) 20 Summit taking place in the city.  The conference which takes place at the University of Toronto from June 15-18, 2010, unites 21 young women from around the world to discuss issues affecting them on a global scale.  The first time director's film is a cross-cultural study of at-risk pregnant women in Tanzania, Bangladesh, Guatemala and the United States.

Turlington, unlike many other Supermodels has devoted much of her time to studies of late and is currently completing her Masters Degree in Public Health at prestigious Columbia University.  She is now married to actor Edward Burns who was not present tonight at her reception at Brassaii in the city's trendy King St. West area.  Also in attendance tonight was former politician Belinda Stronach.

I got to meet Turlington briefly earlier and she was just lovely and disarming, agreeing to personalize a photo or two for me.  She mentioned that she is also visiting Ottawa
as part of her promotional tour for No Woman, No Cry and said that the film, which has not yet found distribution, got a very positive response at a screening earlier today at  near-by Scotiabank Theatre.  I then asked her to pose for a photograph together and she tugged me over - all smiles.  Enchanting.

  1. Is it just me or does she not age at all? She looks exactly the same as she did in her prime.
