A newly relaunched Gladden Entertainment which brought us hits like The Fabulous Baker Boys and Weekend at Bernie's, has announced that they are in the early stages of developing a new film based on '80s camp classic Mannequin.
The 1987 romantic comedy about an overnight male window dresser who falls in love with a sexy mannequin, starred Sex & The City's Kim Cattrall in her big breakout role alongside teen heartthrob Andrew McCarthy (Pretty in Pink, St. Elmo's Fire). No word on whether this will be an update of the original film or a third installment in the franchise, which saw a little known sequel released in 1991. I watched the original in the theatre five times. Having to wait for this film is like animal cruelty, but instead with humans as victims... the victim = me!! Cannot wait. Hollywood!!
