Justin Timberlake

I cannot stop laughing.  The most brilliant Meme I've seen in quite some time.  It's gonna be May, indeed.

For those who still don't get it, scroll to the 3:15 mark on this Video.

Ahh... now you see!  LOL

NEW MUSIC: JUSTIN BIEBER - "BOYFRIEND"

Official Artwork for Justin Bieber - Boyfriend
Justin would be proud. Timberlake, that is. Justin Bieber's latest Single Boyfriend surfaced at midnight on iTunes and was released to Radio simultaneously, carefully avoiding the wrath of Piracy and pre-release leaks. The Track produced and co-written by Mike Posner is v. much dominated by a hypnotic loop heard throughout the Track. After chatting with one of his Co-Writers from The Messengers back in December candidly at Massey Hall, I was told that we can expect a Sound inspired by Justin Timberlake's Justified Disc.  You know, back when he actually sang?

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, AMY ADAMS & CLINT EASTWOOD TO STAR IN "TROUBLE WITH THE CURVE"

Still from In Time
Hot on the heels of Moneyball's success, another Baseball Drama is on its way. In tandem with his 31st Birthday today, it was announced that Justin Timberlake will be starring alongside Amy Adams and Clint Eastwood in Trouble with the Curve. The Film is to be directed by Robert Lorenz, a production partner of Eastwood's.

In what will be Eastwood's first time starring in a Film not directed by himself since 1993's In the Line of Fire, the five-time Academy Award-winning Director/Producer/Composer and Actor plays an aging Baseball Scout who is losing his sight. Heading on a road trip to Atlanta with his Daughter (Adams), they cross paths with a younger Baseball Scout (Timberlake). It is said that Timberlake and Adams' characters have a romantic story line.

Warner Bros. is set to release Trouble with the Curve on January 13, 2013.

JESSICA BIEL & JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE ENGAGED

Jessica Biel in Toronto - Jume 2011
They're on again. Forever. Several sources are reporting that Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake are now engaged after having dated for almost four years. Timberlake reportedly proposed to Biel late December while the Couple were Snowboarding in the mountains of Jackson, Wyoming. They had stayed at the five-star Amangani Resort, New York Post reports. The Resort is listed on Condé Nast Traveler's prestigious Gold List. Biel and Timberlake later celebrated their Engagement with Friends in Big Sky, Montana.

Amangani Resort
We got our first sign that things were back-on again between the Couple this Summer in Toronto when Timberlake flew-in to visit Biel while she was filming Len Wiseman's Total Recall.  They were spotted at some of the City's finest eateries like The Black Hoof, Din Tai Fung and Enoteca Sociale. As CTV's eTalk revealed on August 29, 2011, they were even spotted biking together.  And as we can see now, the Couple that bikes together, stay together.

Congratulations Justin & Jessica!  It's time we amalgamate their names together.  How about Justica or Jesstin?  Voice your vote on the Poll on my left Sidebar!

FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS - MOVIE REVIEW

Still from Friends with Benefits
After the Sex-Comedy debacle that is known as No Strings Attached, releasing a Film about similar subject matter might seem like a bit of a risk, especially seeing how that one was panned critically. Studio Executives over at Sony Screen Gems who invested in Friends with Benefits need not fear though as they have on their hands what appears to be a Box Office smash.

What makes Friends with Benefits so enjoyable is not only its charming Cast - yes, that includes you too Justin Timberlake  - but also that its Script and directing by Will Gluck (Easy A) equally are fantastic.  Gluck has a knack at bringing to life smart and vulnerable Heroines and Mila Kunis as tough-shelled Job Recruiter Jamie from New York City, is pitch-perfect here.  This is not to say that her counterpart Timberlake as wholesome newly-hired GQ Magazine Art Director Dylan, isn't also wonderful too as we have some fun watching him and Jamie struggle to keeping emotions separate from their purely sexual friendship.  What ensues here is the natural and completely believable progression of Friends into Lovers and  soon we find ourselves rooting for Jamie and Dylan and become involved in their own "damaged" lives.  Their chemistry together is sexy and fun even though perhaps they are too aware of their becoming a cliché.

Gluck once again brings out his Power-Muse Patricia Clarkson as Jamie's Mother Lorna, delivering some of the Film's brighter moments and Woody Harrelson as a sex-obsessed Gay Sports Editor at GQ absolutely steals the Show with overt gusto.  Jenna Elfman makes a welcome return as Dylan's Sister Annie, while the amazing Richard Jenkins as Dylan's aging and senile Father, gives the Story some true heart and soul.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE SPOTTED IN TORONTO

Justin Timberlake at TIFF 2005
Despite his new Comedy Friends with Benefits being out in a couple weeks, Justin Timberlake's reason for stay in Toronto doesn't appear so much to be business-related.  The Singer/Songwriter/Actor/Multimedia Mogul arrived in the City over the weekend without the flash of a Camera, and was spotted in and around Yorkville earlier today doing a bit of shopping at Whole Foods.  Little did he know though that he had crossed paths with Hugh Jackman (spotted yesterday) who reportedly was working out at The Yorkville Club, also situated in Hazelton Lanes.

Perhaps his being spotted on Sunday with on again/off again/on again(?) partner Jessica Biel via her Kensington Market Food Shop The Good Egg, is an indication just why he might be here?  And while we're on the topic of eggs, perhaps they're re-Kinder Surprising their romance?

Apparently they refused to divulge information to US Weekly,  but they had no qualms sharing juicy details for free with their Twitter Followers.  "Privacy is important", says GoodEggChick:

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE & LADY GAGA ON "SNL" | "IT'S NOT GAY WHEN IT'S IN A THREE-WAY"

Justin Timberlake hosts Saturday Night Live
Although it's sad to see another season of Saturday Night Live end, at least last night's Finale was a memorable one.  Host Justin Timberlake was joined not only by Lady Gaga as a Musical Guest, but also appeared alongside her on three Sketches.  And how about that Cameo from our favourite Sex Symbol Bradley Cooper, who I interviewed last week here.
Timberlake fully combined his talents to bring out the laughs whether it be dancing in a Beer costume in  a Drink-off against Kristen Wiig in a Tea Bag get-up, or singing with Andy Samberg in a continuation of their Mother Lover Digital Short series.  In the latter Musical Clip, both Timberlake and Samberg together with Gaga, sang about the sexy joys of a Threesome.  "It's not Gay when it's in a three-way", they proclaim - at one point parodying two Jacks and one Chrissy in an homage to Three's Company!

And despite promising not to sing, so to let Gaga have her moment, he still went into song and dance during his introduction, at one point serenading a lucky Woman in the audience on bended knee.

You absolutely must watch Gaga, Samberg and Timberlake's Digital Short below.  So hot!

"W" MAGAZINE'S BEST PERFORMANCES OF THE YEAR PORTRAITS

Natalie Portman in W Magazine
I quite literally screamed when I saw these Photos.  Lynn Hirschenberg sits down with  the major Oscar contenders of 2011 in the February issue of W Magazine with stunning Photography by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.  The Photos are astounding.

Interestingly we learn that my new favourite Natalie Portman is a huge fan of Dirty Dancing admitting, "I always loved Penny, probably because I was really like Baby. I was a Jewish girl from a Jewish family, so of course I liked the tall, skinny blond girl.”

Jeff Bridges reveals shockingly that he is a huge fan of the quirky Gay-themed Comedy Chuck & Buck, telling Hirschenberg, "I thought the best performance of the last decade was Mike White in Chuck & Buck.  I dug that performance."

NEW MUSIC: JESSIE J - DO IT LIKE A DUDE

Jessie J.
She's only 22, but Essex native Jessie J is already creating quite a splash on the Internet and overseas. A labelmate of Amy Winehouse on Universal Republic Records, the likes of Justin Timberlake have sung her praises, calling her "the best singer in the world". And she hasn't even released her album stateside yet.

Jessie J is a storied one. She made her stage debut in Andrew Lloyd Weber's Whistle Down the Wind at age eleven and at the age of 18 tragically suffered a minor stroke, then focussing on Songwriting. She actually co-wrote Miley Cyrus' catchy hit Party in the USA with Dr. Luke.  She currently is at work on a new track of Britney Spears' forthcoming album.

Her debut single is performing well in the UK right now, Do It Like a Dude, with little promotion. The gritty track Reggae-infused vocals was originally written for Rihanna, but kept for herself decidedly.  Its Video has garnered well over 5 million views on VEVO already.

See what you think of Jessie J below, courtesy of Universal Music. A name to look out for in 2011. Visit her official website here.

"THE SOCIAL NETWORK" SET FOR JANUARY 11, 2011 RELEASE

The Social Network DVD
Mark your calendars!  Timed perfectly for the Oscars voting period, David Fincher's The Social Network will see a DVD release here in North America on January 11, 2011 via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.  The current frontrunner in the race for Best Picture follows a strategy similar to that of Paul Haggis' Crash, which was released theatrically ahead of Awards season and timed also with a DVD release right around the crucial voting period.  The Film went on to win Best Picture in 2006 over favoured Brokeback Mountain (Ang Lee).

The Social Network's release mid-January would be beneficial in numerous ways in that all the buzz it is getting right now will be great of Sales and Rentals of the Film.  At the same time, the frequent advertising and mentioning of its release would aid in its cause for staying visible in the 6,000+ Academy Voters' collective consciousness.

Crafty/sneaky or whatever you like to call it - I'm so up for owning this one on DVD.  Can't wait to watch the abundance of Featurettes on the Two-Disc edition of the DVD, including a full-length Documentary about the making of the The Social Network, its Scoring and Commentary with Fincher & Cast.

HAPPY WORLD AIDS DAY

Jennifer Hudson
Happy World AIDS Day!  Wait. That's inappropriate isn't it? According a 2009 Report from the United Nations, it is estimated that 33.3 million people around the World are infected with HIV/AIDS and that is no laughing matter.  Although globally fewer people overall are dying of AIDS due to advancements in Medicine since the 1990s which slow down the progression of HIV to AIDS, there still is a steady increase in the number of people living with HIV around the World.

Some of our favourite Celebrities have teamed together to raise money for Children in Africa who are infected with AIDS. Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, Justin Timberlake, Kim Kardashian, Bronson Pelletier, Usher, Lady Gaga and many more have staged their own Digital Deaths today, which means that until they raise $1 million from their Fans via Text Message Donations, there will be no more online communication between them and their Fans through Social Utilities like Facebook and Twitter.  And to think Hudson just lost all that weight and can't even enjoy it now!

Click here for details on how to donate to and learn about the cause. It's easy to donate and even my favourite Starbucks has created their own World AIDS Day initiative where $0.05 from each Hand-Crafted Beverage (made at the Bar) sold today will be donated to the Global Fund.

THE SOCIAL NETWORK REVIEW

Although I was a bit devastated that David Fincher's (Zodiac, The Curious Case of Benjamin ButtonThe Social Network didn't do the rounds at TIFF this year, it was just as rewarding attending an advanced screening of it and I can say that it very much lives up to the hype surrounding it.

The story criss-crosses different stages of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg's hands-on and meticulous involvement in the crafting of the world's favourite social networking website up to his  documented legal battles over the legitimacy of his title as its Founder. Turning Facebook into the $25 billion empire that it is today did not come without its share of Drama.  The limits of true friendship and loyalty are put to the most rigorous test when fortune divides best friends Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) and Eduardo Saverin (Andrew Garfield).  Zuckerberg's integrity also is challenged further with  wealthy twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss (Armie Hammer and Josh Pence) fighting for an entitlement to the fortune in having commissioned him to assist in the creation of a project which wound up spiraling and veering off into the opus of Facebook as we know it.

VIDEO: THE SOCIAL NETWORK (AKA THE FACEBOOK MOVIE) TRAILER

"You don't get to 500 million friends.... without making a few enemies first."

Although I had my hesitations about The Social Network, buzzed originally as The Facebook Movie, this trailer was brought to my attention by my friend Yen and it looks intriguing, yes?

The David Fincher film recounts the whole creative process that went into creating the world's favourite social utility site, but it definitely didn't come to fruition without its share of Drama it appears. The film will be released via Sony/Columbia Pictures on October 1, 2010. Crossing fingers this one gets a screening at TIFF too.  Love lead actor Jesse Eisenberg (Adventureland, The Squid and The Whale)!!!

CHARICE EXCLUSIVE TORONTO PHOTOS AT MUCHMUSIC

From a childhood of domestic abuse and meager abundances, to performing on Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah and now reaching number eight on the Billboard Hot 200 Album Sales Chart, nobody could possibly have guessed Charice's fate. Her mentor David Foster, has called the pint-sized singer "the most talented girl in the world", which is quite the compliment considering he has worked with pretty much all of her idols including heavyweights Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Céline Dion. The eighteen year-old singer arrived in Toronto last night as part of a promotional tour which has her appearing on CTV's Canada AM, YTV, MuchMusic's MuchOnDemand and a live performance at Eaton Centre tomorrow, followed by a Meet and Greet at Indigo Bookstore. And this is only one of many promotional stop-offs.

Charice arrived at MuchOnDemand this afternoon and spoke about her rise to stardom after having been discovered on YouTube. She mentioned her influences and singing from a very young age in the Philippines, stating that music in her homeland tries very much to be like the amazing music in America. When asked about her friendship with Canadian teen sensation Justin Bieber, whom also was discovered on YouTube, she said that the two are good friends and confirmed indeed that they are not dating. She indicated that she treats him like "her little brother". Charice though has her heart set on another very popular Justin (Timberlake, that is) and she giddily recalled how she got a chance to meet her idol last November, which had her literally shaking. Timberlake is said to have been floored by her three-song performance at the CS Board of Governors Gala, asking Foster "Where did you find this girl?".
