DEMI LOVATO CALLS-OUT DISNEY ON EATING DISORDERS

Demi Lovato is not pleased. The Singer/Actress who formerly starred on Disney's Sonny with a Chance, Tweeted her displeasure with her former Employer after catching an episode of their popular Series, Shake it Up starring next-generation Teen Queens, Bella Thorne and Zendaya.

The Episode in question features a Supermodel Character who tells Cece (Thorne) and Rocky (Zendaya), "I could just eat you up, well if I ate", a line intended to be a joke.  After seeing this, Lovato took to Twitter, stating "I find it really funny how a company can lose one of their actress' from the pressures of an EATING DISORDER and yet still make joke about.".  

As we may recall, Lovato had prior undergone treatment for among other issues, Bulimia at Timberline Knolls Residential Center in Illinois, completing her treatment in January 2011.

Disney's Public Relations Team however took action quickly, replying to Lovato, "We hear you & are pulling both episodes as quickly as possible & reevaluating them... It’s NEVER our intention to make light of eating disorders!".   Now that's more like it - it's good to see that Lovato really is using the power of her Celebrity to make a difference, even if it means taking a stand against the hand that feeds.

Is this however, simply just a statement about Eating Disorders or is this on a deeper level, her sticking-it to her former Employer?

Here it is finally! Walt Disney Motion Pictures' The Avengers, which promises to be just about the biggest Blockbuster to hit theatres in 2012, now has a first official Trailer and it looks pretty epic. Iron Man, Captain America and Thor join forces to save the World in this ultimate mash-up of Marvel Superheroes.  Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson. Need I say more?

"BRIDESMAIDS" DEBUTS IMPRESSIVELY BEHIND "THOR"

Thor shows no signs of stopping, landing on top of the Box Office again for a second week. The Marvel Comics adaptation brought in $34 million this weekend from 3,963 theatres, firmly planting Australian Actor Chris Hemsworth as a star in North America. Hemsworth is said to be starring next in the upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman 3-D adaptation set to film in Montreal with Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron.

Despite opening against a Monster, Universal Pictures' Bridesmaids exceeds expectations, debuting in second spot with $24.5 million from 2,918 theatres. The Comedy pairs Saturday Night Live alumni Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph together and actually has received stellar reviews also. Rotten Tomatoes pegs it in around the 90% mark on its Tomatometer, making it one of the best-reviewed films of 2011. To put this into perspective, despite this being R-rated and showing in only a fraction of theatres that Thor is, Bridesmaids actually is the real champion here.

Fast Five still is going strong this weekend and despite slipping to third in its third week of release, it still earns $20.2 million at the Box Office. Usher who was in Toronto this weekend, could not resist even and had to head to our AMC to see it Friday night!

BELLA THORNE & ZENDAYA SPOTTED IN TORONTO | SIGNED PHOTO GIVEAWAY

All work and no play makes for no fun. Disney Divas Bella Thorne and Zendaya, known best for their work on the hit Series Shake it Up, arrived in Toronto earlier in the week.   Since then, they have been in and out of Production Meetings all week long. That hasn't stopped them from having a good time though, Tweeting about how much they love our Eaton Centre and restaurants like Gretzky's and Fionn McCool's!

Bella and Zendaya had a fun Girls' Day Out which included Manicure/Pedicures. Earlier in the day they were seen out by the TIFF Bell Lightbox with their Parents - Bella with her Mom (to whom she bears a striking resemblance!) and Zendaya with her Dad.

The Girls weren't shy at all about their love for Toronto Fans, posing for Photos and signing Autographs generously.  Myself and a few Fans caught the Girls playfully egging each other on after their Nails were done, with a light Takeaway Dinner from Subway in-hand. They even had matching Louis Vuitton Bags!  Talk about BFFs!  Zendaya told us that she has been in Toronto a few times before but hasn't had much time to go out and enjoy the City yet.

Bella opted for amazing Glitter 'n' Gold matching her fun spirit while Zendaya opted for Fire Engine Red, proudly flaunting the fruits of their patience at the Nail Salon. And they were unbelievably friendly and down-to-earth, taking turns posing for Group Shots with Fans while Zendaya's accommodating Father helped take Photos. He also took Photos of Fans on his iPhone too!

Well, what do you know? Mr. Will-W.:Pop Maven Reader Monika has already spotted Disney Diva Bella Thorne! Congrats, Girl!  As reported prior both she and BFF Zendaya are in-town working on a new TV movie called Frenemies from the same people who brought us the successful Camp Rock Franchise.

Monika wrote-in gushing, "She is super sweet :)" after spotting the Actress downtown yesterday afternoon.  Keep the sightings coming in, Mavenati.  Proud of you!

DANIEL CRAIG, OWEN WILSON, BELLA THORNE & MORE SPOTTED IN TORONTO

Yes, that's legit.

Gush.  He's back!  Daniel Craig was spotted yesterday in Yorkville doing a bit of shopping in Hazelton Lanes.  One Onlooker (@sabcav) saw James Bond himself perusing the Fashions at upscale Retailer TNT Blu.  Craig rolled into town quietly to do re-shoots for Jim Sheridan's Dream House for Universal Pictures.  There is talk of the Horror possibly getting a premiere at TIFF 2011, so don't fret quite yet if you miss your chance to spot him this time as he's known to be a difficult one.  No Rachel Weisz or Naomi Watts sightings yet though. *frown*

Woody Harrelson picked-up his BFF Owen Wilson at Hazelton Hotel's ONE Restaurant around 11:00 PM last night. Wilson was seen earlier dining in-the-open at Whole Foods after a taxing Bike Ride around the City which had Torontonians-a-Tweeting. The two headed to Drake Hotel for some late night libations and a smoke, giving Onlookers a taste of one of the hottest Celebrity Bromances this City has seen… ever!

One trustworthy source might have seen veteran Actor Malcolm McDowell at Starbucks in Yorkville earlier today. Although there are no Toronto Productions listed on his Docket, McDowell does have a Guest Spot on Vancouver-filmed Series Psych for the USA Network. Could it have been him?
