INTERVIEW: MALCOLM MCDOWELL

Malcolm McDowell & Mr. Will-W.
I had the incredible opportunity of a sit-down Chat with Screen Legend Malcolm McDowell, who has entertained audiences for an incredible span of five decades.  With a Resume which has seen extremes with controversial Films like Caligula and Clockwork Orange on on end of it, and on the other end his recognizable voicework in Blockbusters like Kung Fu Panda and Bolt, McDowell has a rare gift that is universal in its appeal.  Critics, Moviegoers and Kids adore him.

McDowell took a break from filming forthcoming ABC Family Television Movie Home Alone 5 starring promising Child Actor Christian Martyn in Winnipeg, to  promote Canadian-based Dark House Films' Ouija Board Horror, The Unleashed.  The Film screened last night at The Royal in Little Italy, with him treating the audience to a quick introduction (click here for Photos).  Although he isn't seen on-screen, McDowell's distinctive voice can be heard as he narrates, having recorded his parts back in Los Angeles via a Phone Patch. Soon he will be teaming again with that Production Company on another title in The Monster Butler, as the "north of $6-million" Horror is slated to begin production this June in Scotland and McDowell couldn't be more thrilled, taking on the Lead Role. The Father of five tells me that often when choosing roles now, he thinks of his own Kids. And soon he'll be home again with them as Home Alone 5 - which sees him starring as an Art Thief looking to reclaim a painting by a Relative, of a Relative - is due to wrap in a couple weeks.

The Actor has many fond memories of Toronto having filmed many a Movie here in recent years, including Antiviral and also Silent Hill: Revelation 3-D.  Although he couldn't comment on specifics for the latter, he did state "It's a great scene. I'm not going to tell you too much and spoil it - the Producers are going to kill me - but it's really fantastic, it's going to be a great one.".   He adds,  "I believe this is my first time being seen in 3-D.".

MALCOLM MCDOWELL IN TORONTO FOR CANADIAN FILM FEST: "THE UNLEASHED"

Malcolm McDowell in Toronto - March 2012
One of Television and Film's most recognizable Actors, Malcolm McDowell, currently is in Toronto showing his support for our Film industry with an appearance at the Canadian Film Fest.  The Festival, which ends tomorrow, takes place at The Royal in Little Italy.  The legendary 68-year-old Actor dropped by the Premiere of his Friend Manuel H. Da Silva's (top right) Ouija Board Horror The Unleashed, which saw various Cast members of Degrassi in-attendance. Although unseen, McDowell provides the Voice Work of the Narrator. He will be re-teaming with Dark House Films for another Horror titled Monster Butler, due for release in 2013.

Walking into the Theatre shortly before its 9:55 PM start time, McDowell came out of his Minivan, stopping to pose for Photos on the Red Carpet with Da Silva and also the Festival Director, Burn Euler (bottom right).

I'll be chatting quickly with McDowell tomorrow, so stay tuned for the Interview in full!

There still is one more day left of the Canadian Film FestClick here to read more about it and maybe see a Movie or two!

DANIEL CRAIG, OWEN WILSON, BELLA THORNE & MORE SPOTTED IN TORONTO

Yes, that's legit.
Gush.  He's back!  Daniel Craig was spotted yesterday in Yorkville doing a bit of shopping in Hazelton Lanes.  One Onlooker (@sabcav) saw James Bond himself perusing the Fashions at upscale Retailer TNT BluCraig rolled into town quietly to do re-shoots for Jim Sheridan's Dream House for Universal Pictures.  There is talk of the Horror possibly getting a premiere at TIFF 2011, so don't fret quite yet if you miss your chance to spot him this time as he's known to be a difficult one.  No Rachel Weisz or Naomi Watts sightings yet though. *frown*

Woody Harrelson picked-up his BFF Owen Wilson at Hazelton Hotel's ONE Restaurant around 11:00 PM last night. Wilson was seen earlier dining in-the-open at Whole Foods after a taxing Bike Ride around the City which had Torontonians-a-Tweeting. The two headed to Drake Hotel for some late night libations and a smoke, giving Onlookers a taste of one of the hottest Celebrity Bromances this City has seen… ever!

One trustworthy source might have seen veteran Actor Malcolm McDowell at Starbucks in Yorkville earlier today. Although there are no Toronto Productions listed on his Docket, McDowell does have a Guest Spot on Vancouver-filmed Series Psych for the USA Network. Could it have been him?
