MICHAEL FASSBENDER ON FEBRUARY 2012 ISSUE OF "INTERVIEW" BY JOSH BROLIN

For those of you who follow my Blog, it is no real mystery that I have a clear and present fondness for Michael Fassbender.  The brilliant Actor is still gaining tons of buzz for his startling portrayal of a Sex Addict in Steve McQueen's Shame and on January 20, 2012, he will be seen in Action Flick Haywire alongside Mixed Martial Arts Star Gina Carano, Ewan McGregor, Channing Tatum, Michael Douglas and more.

On the February Issue of Interview Magazine, Fassbender chats with his Friend Josh Brolin whom he met in Toronto back in 2008 at TIFF.  Fassbender reveals to Brolin that after filming Prometheus in London earlier last year, he took a break, Motorcycling his way through Europe.  He says, "I did 5,000 miles with my dad. We went through Holland, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Italy . . . and then I did Spain and France by myself. It was a trip—you would have loved it.".  Both Brolin and Fassbender worked together on 2010's Jonah Hex.

Brolin also relays a message from his Wife Diane Lane to Fassbender on his work in Shame after the Couple saw it together at a 10:00 AM screening.

KRISTEN WIIG IN JUNE 2011 ISSUE OF "INTERVIEW"

The lovely, sexy and talented Kristen Wiig, aka our new Queen of Comedy, sits down and chats with David Grohl of The Foo Fighters on the June 2011 issue of Interview Magazine.  She reveals how raucous she was as a Teenager growing up in Rochester but also says how she actually is, "I never considered myself to be funny—maybe because socially I can be a little shy sometimes. I just didn’t think that you could be both.".

STEVE CARELL INTERVIEWS RYAN GOSLING FOR "INTERVIEW" MAGAZINE

Ryan Gosling - May 2011 Issue of Interview

Perfect timing. Just as he’s in-town right now relaxing, this charming Interview with Ryan Gosling by Funnyman Steve Carell surfaces. The two Actors who will be appearing in eagerly-awaited Comedy Stupid, Crazy, Love this July, appear on the May issue of Interview Magazine.  Here we learn about everything from Gosling’s experience on The Mickey Mouse Club with Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears to the creative process behind his acclaimed work in Blue Valentine.

Gosling tells Carell, “I loved growing up in Canada. It’s a great place to grow up, because—well, at least where I grew up—it’s very multicultural. There’s also good health care and a good education system. So it’s a great place to be from, although, when I was 8, I was walking to school one day and I saw a frozen cat by the side of the road, and I picked it up and hit it against a tree.”.  Uh-oh.  PETA won’t like this.

On how he feels about watching his own Films, Gosling says, “ I hate it… there’s no way that a Film can capture in two hours the experience of making it, so it’s always disappointing in some way. The thing that’s so exciting when you’re making a film is that it can be anything and there are no limitations on it. So I do have to remind myself that most people watching the film weren't involved in making it, so they don’t really know what’s missing.”.

ANDREW GARFIELD CHATS WITH TERRY GILLIAM ON OCTOBER'S INTERVIEW MAGAZINE

Andrew Garfield on October issue of Interview

You snooze you lose.  One of the things I was asked most frequently about my TIFF 2010 experience was, "Who is that?" when people would stumble across my photos of Andrew Garfield.  If you still don't know who he is, it won't be long before you will be all too familiar.  With David Fincher's The Social Network on the verge of Oscar success with its release this Friday, in addition to a loyal cult following for Mark Romanek's Never Let Me Go, Garfield is at the forefront of this generation of actors although it does seem he is peaking a bit later than expected.  His performance, aside from that of The Social Network star Eisenberg, is one of the biggest highlights of the film.

The 27 year-old Los Angeles-born actor who hails from London has been tapped to play the coveted role of Spider-Man taking over the iconic role most recently owned by Tobey Maguire.   As an aside, the latest instalment in that franchise is to be directed by Marc Webb, who brought us last year's phenomenal yet bittersweet (500) Days of Summer.  Garfield sits down and chats with acclaimed Director Terry Gilliam on this month's Interview Magazine on what life was like prior to being now on the brink of stardom.  

MARION COTILLARD CHATS WITH NICOLE KIDMAN ON AUGUST ISSUE OF INTERVIEW MAGAZINE

Marion Cotillard covers August's Interview Magazine and does an interview with none other than Nicole Kidman, her NINE co-star.  In the article the two talk about Ecology and how while working together on NINE, she was always pushing for others on-set to be more environmentally conscious. 

Kidman tells Cotillard,  "....you’re otherworldly, that it seems like you come from another planet—and I mean that in the most beautiful way. And yet you are the most Earth-based of all of us. That’s a very strange paradox.  Otherworldly, that it seems like you come from another planet—and I mean that in the most beautiful way. And yet you are the most Earth-based of all of us. That’s a very strange paradox. ".

Cotillard is tapped to star in Woody Allen's next film and the actresses had nothing but praise for the Director.  Kidman asks Cotillard, "But Penélope Cruz loved working with Woody, didn’t she?  Cotillard replied, "She loved it. And so did Naomi Watts."  And being close friends with Watts, Kidman stated "Naomi said it was the best film experience that she’s ever had".

MADONNA COVERS MAY 2010 ISSUE OF INTERVIEW

Now here's an unlikely match - Madonna gets interviewed by Milk director Gus van Sant on the forthcoming May 2010 issue of Interview Magazine.  She asks him questions about making Milk with ex-husband Sean Penn and he asks her about her fixation on Malawi. The magazine's website hasn't yet posted the interview unfortunately.   Tardy, tardy....

TOM FORD THROWS A JAB AT ANNIE LEIBOVITZ?

Quite possibly the sexiest man alive, fashion icon and now director Tom Ford, stated this in the December/January 2010 issue of Interview Magazine: "For most photographers today—I won’t necessarily mention names—you see a picture of 10 people in a magazine, and none of those people were shot together. They take the best head from here, stick it on the best body from that shot, move that over there, and you fill in, which is fine, but that’s a different kind of art—an impressionistic way of interpreting something. I don’t necessarily think it’s a bad thing, but it’s a different way of working."  Read the rest of the interview by director Gus Van Sant here.

My guess is he's referring to financially-troubled celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz? But wait, wasn't Leibovitz the same cut-and-paste photographer who shot this iconic photo of Ford for Vanity Fair with Scarlett Johansson and Keira Knightley?  Hmm.

INTERVIEW MAGAZINE: PENÉLOPE CRUZ BY MARION COTILLARD

Although she has made quite a few questionable choices in her career, it is definitely all about Penélope Cruz in Hollywood right now.  The Madrid-born actress' winning streak started in what is arguably her career-best performance in Pedro Almodóvar's Volver (2006), followed by her Oscar-winning turn as emotionally unstable artist Maria Elena in Woody Allen's Vicky Christina Barcelona (2008).  She currently can be seen in theatres currently in Rob Marshall's NINE and Almodóvar's latest work Broken Embraces where she once again is just absolutely stellar.

In the December/January 2010 issue of Interview Magazine, Cruz is interviewed by NINE co-star Marion Cotillard.  We learn that upon making her first American film The Hi-Lo Country in 1998, she could barely put together a sentence in English. She never had the chance to visit a cinema until 1990 having to lie that she was 16 years old in order to gain entrance.  Prior to that, she would rent movies in Beta-Max format.  The first film she ever saw in the theatre was in fact, Almodóvar's Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!  Her obsession with his films has become reality as she has become his current muse.  

Cotillard questions Cruz on how she researched for the role of seductress Carla in NINE and we learn that Cruz was in fact channeling Pink Panther the whole time which she kept a secret.  Cruz feels that most successful actors require some degree of insecurity - every actor needs an ego, although their ego can also be their worst enemy.  She mentioned also that she believes there is no greater actress today than Meryl Streep.
