VIDEO PREMIERE: KATY PERRY - CALIFORNIA GURLS FT. SNOOP DOGG

At long last Katy Perry has unleashed some summer deliciousness upon us with her latest video for Billboard Hot 100 topping California Gurls ft. Snoop Dogg!  Directed by Matthew Cullen, the video's unabashed celebration of the female body, no-fuss choreography, ham-for-the-cam, Snoop Dogg and  hyper-feminine overtones are all signature Mariah Carey.  Although I was expecting a few more bells and whistles, the video captures the essence of the song... and I liked it!

KATY PERRY ANNOUNCES TITLE AND RELEASE DATE OF SECOND ALBUM

Picking up where she left off with debut effort One of the Boys, Katy Perry continues her obsession with High School on Teenage Dream, her sophomore album. Capitol Records (EMI) will be releasing the album August 24th in North America and the rest of the world the following week. Judging by how amazing first single California Gurls (ft. Snoop Dogg) is and the excellent reception it’s getting, a three and a half month wait seems a bit of a long wait, don’t you think?

NEW MUSIC: KATY PERRY - CALIFORNIA GURLS FT. SNOOP DOGG

Here's something to brighten up your weekend...  Katy Perry's back with a single that emits the scent of Eau De Nombre 1.  Dr. Luke who brought us heaps of fun on Ke$ha's hits Your Love is My Drug and TiK ToK, delivers summer fun on this collaboration featuring rapper Snoop Dogg.  I had my doubts about Perry being a One Album Wonder, but press the Pause button on that for now.  I love this track.  This will be 2010's song of the summer and I look forward to hearing it perform it live at the MuchMusic Video Awards on June 20th!
