TIM ROBBINS AND THE ROGUES GALLERY BAND AT TORONTO'S THE MOD CLUB

Tim Robbins in Toronto - August 2011
Academy Award-winning Actor Tim Robbins is best known for his performances in films like Mystic River, Bull Durham and The Shawshank Redemption, but now at 52 years of age is realizing one of his greatest dreams, to sing. Robbins currently is touring with The Rogues Gallery Band in support of their eponymous debut Disc together, released in Canada via Fontana North this July.

Many might have noticed that he began to embark on this new endeavor following the dissolving of his 21-year relationship with Susan Sarandon in 2009.

Combining honest songwriting together Country/Folk sensibilities, Robbins has joked that this debut is his "Mid-life Crisis Album", referring to his late start at as a Musician.  His Debut actually has received generally favourable reviews, garnering a respectable score of 61 on critical aggregate, Metacritic.

Robbins and The Rogues Gallery Band were spotted out enjoying some Italian fare on the Patio at Vivoli in Little Italy prior to performing before an intimate crowd of 200 this evening at The Mod Club.  They had received a warm response from many of Robbins' longtime Fans, including one Gentleman who travelled all the way from Tennessee to see Robbins, bringing his Wife and Daughter along.  "I have to get his Autograph!", he tells me as he waits patiently by the Band's white Van with a California Plate.

After a post-show break, Robbins came out to the Bar and greeted a few Fans who stuck around, posing for Photos and signing Autographs for them, before disappearing again quickly.  Tomorrow they will be on the road again heading off to their next show in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

  1. I was at the concert last night, and was waiting for Tim afterwards too. We talked briefly (I was the only one without a camera ;)). Thought I would say 'hi'. :)
