CELEBRITIES AT 2011 KENTUCKY DERBY

Dialed In
Ah! The one day a year I actually care about Sports. This year marks the 137th edition of the Kentucky Derby, held annually at Kentucky's historic Churchill Downs.  The Race run the first Saturday every May, often is a precursor to championship honours for three year-old horses. And the Celebrities are out in full force partying-it-up.

At last night's Brownstable Brown Gala, some familiar names came out to partake in the festivities and seen were the likes of Bill Paxton, Carson Kressley, Maria Menunos, Niki Taylor, Kate Gosselin, Ian Somerhalder, among others.

Gosselin, who admits not to being a Gambler was seen telling Cameras "I had to bet. I just had to!".  This came after spending a day at Churchill Downs watching the Kentucky Oaks, the female version of the Derby held one day before the main event itself.  Meanwhile, Menunos Tweeted her picks for the Derby and she had three horses in mind, "Pants on Fire, Dialed In and Midnight Interlude". Somerhalder on the other hand is rooting for long-shot Animal Kingdom.

Not so coincidentally, The Village People are all rooting for Mucho Macho Man, one of the top Contenders this year who is trained by a female Trainer named Kathy Ritzvo.  Also supporting the Horse are Carson Daly and Christy Turlington.

Expected to be at the Track today watching the race are the likes of Jordin Sparks, Martha Stewart, Miranda Lambert, Nick Lachey, Chris Meloni and more!

MARTHA STEWART PRESENTS BLAKE LIVELY'S "EASTER DESSERT BUFFET"

Blake Lively's Easter Dessert Buffet
While at the TIME 100 Gala in New York City tonight, Domestic Goddess Martha Stewart spotted Gossip Girl's Blake Lively, an Honoree this year at tonight's festivities.  The Gala honours the year's most influencial people according to TIME Magazine.

Stewart Tweeted the above Photo of Lively's Easter Dessert Buffet, which quite literally is a rainbow of flavours.  And if I'm not mistaken, that's a seven-layer Rainbow Cake featuring every colour of the spectrum up in front.  I only wish Lively used a better Camera minus all the effects on her iPhone so we can better enjoy the details she put into her Table of Yummy.

Lively is known among the Baking Circle as quite the talent. Back in December, she and the Queen of the Cake Pop herself Bakerella, hooked-up and had a bit of a Baking Party.  Wish I were there!

I am speechless at the incredible amount of luck I have had this week.  Martha, there is you and only you.  You inspire me to be passionate about the work I do and in your example I continue to share ideas with the world not out of work, but passion.

Thank you, Ms. Stewart.  I'm honoured.

MARTHA STEWART APPEARANCE AT TORONTO'S CANADA BLOOMS EXPO

Lifestyle mogul Martha Stewart made a rare visit to Toronto today, flying in from New York to promote her new line of products sold exclusively at home improvement retailer Home Depot.  Stewart made a 45-minute appearance at Canada Blooms, a landscaping and gardening expo, held at the historic Canadian National Exhibition.

Stewart noted that it is much chillier in Toronto than it is in her hometown of Bedford, New York.  She had stopped by Brantford (approximately an hour outside the city) earlier in the morning to visit her Friesian horses at Witteveen Farms.  Although only 400 seats were made available for Stewart's last minute appearance, there were almost double that number in onlookers at the venue.  She gave the audience gardening tips including how to plant home-grown Fennel and Dahlias, indicating that the biggest mistake we often make is that we always remember to feed ourselves, but not our plants.

Included in the Stewart's Home Depot line are Paints, Dish Soap, All-Purpose Cleaners, Patio Sets, Certified Organic Seeds/Bulbs and Design-Your-Own Closet Kits.  This new deal is aimed at boosting profits for Home Depot, which saw a $5 billion dip in profits from 2008 to 2009.  At the same time, it alleviates concerns about Stewart's products being difficult to find here in Canada.  Click here to view a full catalogue of Martha Stewart products available at the retailer.

Unfortunately, Stewart was rushed in and then out today, not having much time to interact with fans.  Soon, hopefully....  Check out some pics I got from the appearance below.
