"TWILIGHT" HOLDS ONTO #1 SPOT FOR THIRD WEEK

In a weak Box Office weekend, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt. 1 maintains a choke hold on Moviegoers with $16.9 million, bringing its total tally to $246.4 million in three weeks.  The Muppets from Disney meanwhile is kept at-bay in second with $11.2 million in this its second week of release, bringing its two week total in North America to $56.3 million.

Despite only showing in 1,740 theatres, Martin Scorcese's Hugo 3-D finds itself in third spot this weekend with $7.6 million, earning a total $25 million in two weeks for Paramount Pictures.  Arthur Christmas finishes in fourth spot also with $7.3 million this weekend.

George Clooney's Oscar vehicle The Descendants continues to do well in sixth spot this weekend with $5.2 million from just 574 theatres. Meanwhile, Immortals is still hanging-on to the Top Ten with $4.2 million in eighth spot earning $75.4 million in its fourth week. Puss in Boots slips to tenth spot with $3 million for Paramount Pictures after a six-week run.

"BREAKING DAWN PT. 1" IS SECOND-HIGHEST OPENING FOR "TWILIGHT"

As you can see, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt. 1 was an epic failure at the Box Office this weekend.  Hardly anyone saw it.  LOL Just kidding. This latest installment tallied $139.5 million, the Twilight Franchise's second-highest opening weekend ever right behind 2009's A New Moon, which opened with $142.8 million. Early numbers projected that it would bring-in upwards of $140 million but nonetheless, this is highly impressive and $72 million of that alone came from its opening day. Internationally, it fared amazingly well with $283.5 million.

Happy Feet 2 opened this weekend with $22 million for Warner Bros. which by all means is good, but still far off the mark of the $41.5 million its predecessor made back in 2006.  It was an ambitious task opening the same weekend as Breaking Dawn Pt. 1, as much of that Female audience's (including Moms) attentions were spent there.

Immortals continues to do well in third this weekend with $12.3 million in its second week of release, just ahead of horrendously-reviewed Adam Sandler-in-drag fare Jack and Jill with $12 million.

Puss in Boots finds itself in fifth spot this weekend with $10.7 million, to-date earning $122.3 million.  J. Edgar in its second week slips to seventh spot with $5.9 million, uncharacteristically weak for a Film starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

At the bottom of the Top Ten is The Descendants starring George Clooney, which appears to be garnering him lots of Oscars Best Actor and Best Picture buzz.  It sets a record for highest grossing Film from fewest number of Theatres, earning $1.2 million from just 29 screens.

"IMMORTALS" IS GOD AT THE BOX OFFICE

Huge weekend at the Box Office! After much fanfare, Immortals finds itself on-top with $32 million from 3,112 theatres. Despite not faring quite as well with Critics (37% on the Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer), audiences clearly are responding to  Director Tarsem Singh's latest effort. This likely will bode well for his next effort, Mirror Mirror starring Lily Collins, Armie Hammer and Julia Roberts.  Immortals was made for $75 million and likely will recoup this back quickly.  It's official, Henry Cavill is a Star.

Although it's been panned universally (at one point last week weighing-in at 0% at the Tomatometer), Jack and Jill still performs respectfully for Universal Pictures in its debut with $27.5 million.  The Adam Sandler Comedy has him playing both Brother and Sister roles, placing it just ahead of last week's number one Film Puss in Boots with $27 million for Paramount Pictures.

Debuting in fifth spot with weak reviews is Clint Eastwood's disappointing J. Edgar Hoover Biopic starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Armie Hammer.  The Drama brings in $12 million from 1,901 theatres, which actually puts it on-par with Eastwood's 2010 effort, Hereafter.

Surprisingly still hanging-in is Disney's Real Steel in tenth spot with $2 million this weekend in its sixth week of release. Domestically, it has garnered $81.5 million and internationally it has made $207 million in its run thus far.

HENRY CAVILL & CAST OF "IMMORTALS" AT L.A. PREMIERE

The Premiere for Tarsem Singh's Immortals took place tonight at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live and all the gorgeous Cast showed up for the Affair.  Although Freida Pinto (Phaedra) in Antonio Berardi and Isabel Lucas (Athena) looked plenty stunning, all eyes were on Star Henry Cavill (Theseus) looking like godly perfection in Tom Ford.  Cavill took a break from filming the next Superman Film, Man of Steel, in Vancouver to fly-in for a bit of Press.

Immortals centers around Theseus who is chosen to battle against King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) in his tyrannous rampage throughout Greece, possibly destroying Humanity altogether.  It opens in theatres this Friday, November 11, 2011 via Alliance Films in Canada.

FREIDA PINTO AT TIFF FOR "TRISHNA"

After arriving yesterday for TIFF 2011, the stunning Freida Pinto spent most of the day away from Boyfriend Dev Patel as she geared-up for tonight's Premiere of Michael Winterbottom's Trishna at Princess of Wales Theatre. 

Absolutely stunning in red, Fan reports of her have actually been glowing on this visit to Toronto as she has made an effort to connect with Fans, signing Autographs and taking Photos with them when possible and today was no exception. Catching Pinto on her way to an Interview, she stopped and got in-close for a quick Photo and finally seeing the Slumdog Millionaire beauty in-person actually was quite surreal as she exudes pure elegance.

In addition to the massive success of The Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Pinto also soon will be appearing in Alliance Films release, The Immortals due in theatres November 11, 2011.
