"THE HUNGER GAMES" CANADIAN PREMIERE: JOSH HUTCHERSON, LIAM HEMSWORTH & ALEXANDER LUDWIG IN TORONTO | ENTER TO WIN PRIZE PACK

Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Alexander Ludwig & Shaun Marks at Canadian Premiere of The Hunger Games
It was Panem-onium in Toronto today as the Hunks of The Hunger Games kicked-off the Canadian leg of the Blockbuster's Press Tour. Stars Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Vancouver's Alexander Ludwig who play Peeta, Gale and Cato respectively in the first installment of what looks to be a massively successful Franchise, made stop-offs  at CTV's The Marilyn Denis Show and MuchMusic's New.Music.Live.  This evening, they graced the Red Carpet at Scotiabank Theatre for the Canadian Premiere of the Film.

On The Marilyn Denis Show, we learned that the Boys bonded off-set, experimenting on some Dubstep Music and they had nothing but praise for their Co-Star Jennifer Lawrence who they claim is actually really funny.  Ludwig, who plays the role of the Villain feels his Character is misunderstood and revealed that he actually gained over 40 lbs for the role, eating much Junk Food.  Always remembering his humble beginnings, Hutcherson revealed also that he'll soon be hosting a Hometown Screening of The Hunger Games back in Kentucky where hails from.

SELENA GOMEZ GREETS FANS AT REHEARSALS FOR MMVAs

Selena Gomez greets Fans at 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards Soundcheck
Cutting it rather close, Selena Gomez just flew into Toronto this evening to do her Soundcheck in preparation for tomorrow's 2011 MuchMusic Video AwardsGomez will be Co-hosting the Event in addition to performing her Hit, Who Says.  Unlike last year's Co-host Miley Cyrus who flew in two days prior to the Show, Gomez was busy yesterday doing a Press Junket in New York City for upcoming Comedy Monte Carlo which also stars Glee's Cory Monteith and Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester.

And no, there were no Justin Bieber sightings as Gomez traveled to the Venue with her Mother in an SUV.  Fans however were in for a treat as she came out after her Rehearsal, posing for Photos with them and she herself held the Camera herself  in many instances!  She also signed a fair amount of Autographs for Fans, with some leaving the area screaming, "Mission Accomplished!  I got Selena Gomez!!!!!".

The Actress/Singer will up and at 'em early again tomorrow as she puts on the finishing touches to her hosting duties again at Queen x John St.

MILEY CYRUS IMPRESSES IN "SNL" DEBUT

Miley Cyrus SNL Bumper Photo
Are we less stubborn now the morning after to admit that Miley Cyrus absolutely killed it on Saturday Night Live last night? Watch the below Intro where Cyrus in the spirit of Eminem, lays it all out on the table, leaving no room for us to poke at her any further. Everything from the Vanity Fair/Annie Leibovitz Cover Photo Scandal to eating a Twizzler with a female Friend and being photographed. She's not perfect.... and neither are we!

Cyrus was a complete natural last night, shining bright in many moments including the Skit about fictitious  The Miley Cyrus Show in which Vanessa Bayer played her to perfection - everything from the diction to that Southern twang.  Meanwhile Cyrus spoofed her good Friend Justin Bieber in a Hoodie and close approximation of his now-former Hairstyle. Nothing mean - all in good fun.

NATASHA BEDINGFIELD - STRIP ME REVIEW

Lovely and talented UK import Natasha Bedingfield sure has taken her time with third stateside release Strip Me and indeed, the twelve track Collection shows much artistic progression since her debut six years ago on the fantastic Unwritten. Although this Album really doesn't take many creative risks still, fans of Bedingfield's brand of Pop will be happy with her latest offerings nonetheless. You can't make a Butterfly sting like a Bee if anatomically it doesn't have a Stinger; the same can be said about Bedingfield's Music.

There are few tracks unworthy of a listen with Bedingfield clearly knowing her way around a Melody - her ability to write one and to bring it to life with that incredible instrument of hers. Strip Me on the whole is optimistic and self-empowering, which either can be your Cup of Tea or outright grating, depending who's on the receiving end of it all. The first pair of tracks, A Little Too Much and electro Arena-Rocker All I Need (ft. Kevin Rudolf), have a bit more of an edge than what we're accustomed to from Bedingfield without alienating Fans.  The latter though admittedly resembles Rudolf's 2009 hit Let it Rock and this doesn't bode well on the Freshness Scale.

Admittedly I didn't think much of the Ryan Tedder-penned title track - the first single off this Disc - as it too seems a bit past its prime consumption date. Beautifully-produced efforts like Weightless and Try more than make-up for the bit of lackluster and Try's Chorus actually resembles that of Miley Cyrus' phenomenal Ballad When I Look at You - no coincidence as it likewise is Produced and Written by the talented John Shanks.

Swedish-based Kleerup who is responsible for some of Robyn's best work (i.e. With Every Heartbeat), contributes as a Writer/Producer on Break Thru, which is mid-'80s Synthesizer obsessed.  No Mozart is a charming Ode to her Lover, expressing forgiveness for his imperfections: "You don't have to be a Mozart/If you just play it from the heart." Completely Fromage, but undeniably savoury - signature Bedingfield. Natasha Bedingfield's Strip Me, from Sony Music, is now in stores. Grade: A-

MILEY CYRUS, ASHLEY GREENE AND DEMI MOORE TO HEADLINE "LOL"

This actually looks pretty enticing.  One of my new favourite obsessions Miley Cyrus, is set to star in upcoming film LOL: Laughing Out Loud, based on a French film in which a teenage girl is dumped by her boyfriend.

The girl however, winds up falling for her boyfriend's best friend, played by newcomer Tanz Watson, not only adding a few twists to the plot but also the interesting element of dynamics in an interracial relationship which might not be as controversial as it once was.  Demi Moore who is in dire need of a juicy role, is attached to play Cyrus' mother and Hung-ky Thomas Jane will be playing her father.  Twilight's newest It Girl Ashley Greene will be playing Cyrus' arch-nemesis.  LOL will hit theatres in 2011.

HELEN MIRREN ON MILEY CYRUS IN NEW YORK MAGAZINE

New York Magazine features a very fascinating article by Logan Hill about Helen Mirren. The Oscar-winning actress is now doing promotion for upcoming film Love Ranch, directed by husband Taylor Hackford (Ray). She discusses preparations for her role in which she plays a Madam who oversees Nevada’s first-ever legalized Brothel. Despite being very comfortable in expressing her sexuality on film, Mirren claims she’s a “ would-be rebel—the good girl who’d like to be a bad one”. The actress is a huge fan of the likes of Madonna, Lady Gaga, Scarlett Johansson and Miley Cyrus. It’s bold women that she loves – “sexy, gorgeous… and not only that.” Click here to read the article in full.

MMVAs RECAP

I hope you all enjoyed my MMVAs coverage leading up to last night's show! In case you missed it, a complete list of award winners are listed at the show's official website here. What you need to know is that Hedley took home the show's major awards including Video of the Year and also Best Post Production for their single Perfect and Best Pop Video for Cha-Ching. Yawn.

Miley Cyrus won Best International Video Award for Party in the USA, which should come as no surprise since she was asked to host this year. Hot Rapper Drake nabbed two awards including Best Cinematography and Best Hip-Hop Video for Successful, while teen-darling Justin Bieber also took home awards in important categories like Ur Fave New Artist, International Video by a Canadian Artist and also, Ur Fave Video for Baby. Surprisingly, Adam Lambert won Best International Video for Whataya Want from Me which he performed also last night considering he was up against stiff competition, namely Lady Gaga.

MILEY CYRUS LEAVES FINAL REHEARSAL FOR TONIGHT'S MMVAs

Another Miley Cyrus photo for the collection.  Cyrus leaves MuchMusic Headquarters after putting the finishing touches on her performance of Can't Be Tamed at the MMVAs.  Look how happy these girls behind her are that they met her.

EXCLUSIVE CANDID MILEY CYRUS & LIAM HEMSWORTH TORONTO PHOTOS

Okay, so they love to hold hands and will not be seen otherwise.  We get it!  Australian actor Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus were seen leaving MuchMusic's headquarters after her 11:00 PM Soundcheck in preparation for tonight's MMVAs.  Although she's been very careful to avoid unwanted attention during her stay in Toronto since arrive Friday night, Cyrus was all smiles with no Paparazzi in sight. She came over and greeted fans one by one, after avoiding them for most of the day.  And as you can see below, she was sweet enough to bless a photo for me with her Sharpie.

Check out these very candid photos I got of Cyrus before heading back to her Hotel.

MILEY CYRUS REHEARSES "CAN'T BE TAMED" FOR TORONTO'S MMVAs: PICTURES AND VIDEO

I think I'm sold completely on Miley Cyrus now finally.  She really is such a  hard-worker and despite people's perceptions of her as being unlikable, I think what we need to understand is that when you achieve the level of success she has at her 17 years of age, and being managed by her mother, she is taught to be very guarded.  I've only witnessed her for a couple days and it's completely insane the level of attention she gets from fans.  Everybody wants her photo with her or of her.  It just gets to the point where one has to set limits.

So far I've seen two sides of her character.  Guarded Cyrus and the Cyrus who really loves her fans and wants to spend time with them.  Last night I witnessed the kinder side on her way out of MuchMusic's headquarters.  Her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, knew to take his place standing back as she greeted fans one by one.  And she signed a photo for me too, which I considering an amazing honour. She will be around for quite some time.

MILEY CYRUS AND LIAM HEMSWORTH HOLDING HANDS AT MMVAs REHEARSAL

Aside from Katy Perry, the one person I want to see most is Miley Cyrus at this year's MMVAs.  The teen multimedia mogul could be seen on a barricaded Queen St. today rehearsing latest single Can't Be Tamed with a large group of dancers and she actually sounded quite good.  I will try to capture a video of her rehearsal tomorrow.  And yes, you all know how much I liked her new album.

On her way out of today's Soundcheck, she could be seen holding hands with Australian actor boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, who I was one of the lucky few to get in close with.  Quite literally, I was so starstruck by Cyrus that I couldn't even find my Sharpie.  That is, until Cyrus' manager mother, Tish lent me hers.  Thanks Mom.  How embarrassing.   Handsome Hemsworth however, was very patient with me despite my little spell of distraction.

MILEY CYRUS CAN'T BE TAMED REVIEW

Coming out of nowhere is Miley Cyrus' unexpectedly good third studio album Can't Be Tamed. The twelve track collection may well be this year's Good Girl Gone Bad. That is, if the public can put aside their reservations of Cyrus being only Hannah Montana. She blossoms as a bona fide Pop Star with a product which is alarmingly seasoned for that of a 17 year-old girl.  Even if you don't have much of an impression of the album's first single, the title track, you will  be pleasantly surprised by what's in store here.

The album opens with Perez Hilton-acclaimed Liberty Walk - one of many tracks in which she holds a co-writing credit. It is a fitting opener about freeing yourself from negativity and anyone who ever discouraged you, putting listeners in the right frame of mind to enjoy the collection. Who Owns My Heart is a slice of Dance Pop which pre-Gaga, might have been deemed too "Euro" for the North American palette. Surprising is an Electronic Pop cover of much-in-the-media Bret Michael's biggest hit circa PoisonEvery Rose Has Its Thorn.  This rendition remains true to its original, yet would be fitting on Pop Radio today still. The cover is one of only a few slower tracks on the album - a good a balance giving the listener a good overview of Cyrus' ability. Two More Lonely People with its galloping base line and guitar strumming is reminiscent of Kylie Minogue's Please Stay; uplifting serving of Discoliciousness and I will say unapologetically that this is a fantastic track.

MILEY ON DRAG QUEENS AND HER G-A-Y GIG

On her gig at G-A-Y  Nightclub in London last weekend, Miley Cyrus tells Access Hollywood, "I think I saw a few Biebs (girls who look like Justin Bieber) in the audience.  Sorry, I love you Justin!....  Unfortunately, I've also seen a few guys who look like me on tour too.  There was one named Vannah Montana!".

No fair!  I want my own legion of lesbian impersonators too!

KATY PERRY AND JUSTIN BIEBER CONFIRMED FOR 2010 MMVAs

As anticipation continues to build as to who will be appearing at the 2010 MuchMusic Video Awards, the station announced yesterday that pop-rocker Katy Perry will be performing at the show, in addition to international teen sensation Justin Bieber.  Expect pandemonium as there is a proven correlation between Bieber and crazy, pushy young girls.

MuchMusic will continue to announce more acts and presenters over the next few weeks, but I think the presence of confirmed host Miley Cyrus and Bieber at this year's show already will push capacity beyond its threshold. The MMVAs will be held Sunday, June 20, 2010Check the station's website for updates on additional names to come.  (Photo credit: Mr. Will-W.)

MILEY CYRUS TO CO-HOST THE 2010 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS

Teen movie/fashion/music mogul Miley Cyrus has just been confirmed to co-host this year's MuchMusic Video Awards to be held Sunday, June 20, 2010.  This will be Cyrus' first visit to Toronto in two years as she follows in the footsteps of fellow Disney stars Jonas Brothers, who co-hosted last year.

Although additional guests have yet to be announced, the line-up never fails to disappoint and many of you will remember Lady Gaga's explosive (literally) medley of LoveGame and Poker Face last year.  Click here to watch her dress rehearsal of the performance last summer.  For sure I'll be there to bring some exclusive photos and coverage.

Don't forget to check out MuchMusic's website for additional details on who will be presenting/performing/attending.
