VIDEO PREMIERE: THE WANTED - "CHASING THE SUN"

Still from Chasing the Sun
Timed with the release of their The EP today, The Wanted have unleashed their new Music Video for latest Single, Chasing the Sun. Filmed in Los Angeles prior to their recent appearance on American Idol, Director X takes us on a wild night out with the Boys with a Surprise Ending, which has a bite to it. Literally!

Manager Scooter Braun took to Twitter to say how the Video channels a The Lost Boys feel to it and I'd say he's right on that.

THE WANTED - "THE EP" REVIEW

The Wanted - The EP
It's been a while since Pop Music has been this exciting and the British Boy Band Duel building between imports One Direction and The Wanted is igniting the spirit of competitiveness which makes Fans and Haters out of all of us.  Regardless which end of the Spectrum you situate yourself, by the end of the Summer it will be impossible to ignore either Band. Although The Wanted already have released two full-length Discs in the UK, they now are being introduced to North America officially with seven tracks collectively packaged as The EP - a majority taken from their 2011 Disc Battleground. To put into perspective, think One Direction - but more emphasis on the Baritone, more singing in unison and edgier beats.

On paper, the ingredients are all there: great Looks, strong Tunes, solid Voices and that all-important Charisma which can be a deciding factor between which artists perform in Clubs and Theatres versus filling-up Arenas. Girls love Max, Nathan, Tom, Siva and Jay and if their recent arrival in Toronto is any indication of what's to come, The Wanted could well be what this generation needs so badly - their own New Kids on the Block or Backstreet Boys, for that matter.

Debut Single Glad You Came penned by Wayne Hector, Ed Drewett and Producer Steve Mac without a doubt has been unavoidable to anyone within an earshot of a Radio of late.  Its highly-singable Melody is a perfect introduction to the Market; it's "wo-oh" bits distinctively British, reminiscent of a Football Chant and not without charm.  Lightning penned by that same Trio showcases the Boys at their best vocally and is a definite standout on the Disc.  Second Single Chasing the Sun penned by Michael Woods and Elliot Gleave takes everything lovable about Glad You Came, but is even more focused on the Dancefloor.  Satellite earns Max, Nathan and Jay a Writing Credit in collaborating with ultra-hot Singer/Songwriter/Producer Ryan Tedder, yet is met only with mixed results when paired against some of the better Tracks on this Disc.  No Boy Band is complete without a Ballad and Heart Vacancy penned by Lucas Secon and Hector fills this void on this uptempo selection of Tunes.  Gold Forever is reminiscent of 1984 Alphaville Hit Forever Young and penned by Claude Kelly, Hector and Mac capping things off well enough to leave us wanting more.

The EP from The Wanted is just a taste of what's to come from this force to be reckoned with.  Universal Music Canada releases digitally and on CD Tuesday, April 24, 2012.

THE WANTED MEET FANS AT CITYTV'S "BREAKFAST TELEVISION"

The Wanted in Toronto - April 4, 2012
The Boys of The Wanted said a fond farewell to Toronto tonight, but certainly did not leave without a bang! This morning Nathan, Siva, Tom, Jay and Max made a stop-off at CityTV's Breakfast Television where hoards of Fans waiting outside were invited in-studio to watch their performance of Glad You Came.  The Track currently is tearing-up the Charts, peaking so far at number three on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, which actually bests What Makes You Beautiful from equally-hot fellow UK Boy Band, One Direction whom are number eleven this week.

Shortly after, the Boys were ushered outside where Fans got a chance to meet their Favourites as they made their way onto their Mercedes S-Class Van.  "Yes, I'd like a kiss with that Autograph!".

Let's watch the Boys in all their glory below:

THE SAGA OF THE WANTED, MR. WILL-W. & "BRIAN PATTERSON"

The Wanted & Mr. Will-W.
I had an early morning Chat with some of the Boys of The Wanted as they head off to their first of two big days of Press today in Toronto and wow, was it an experience!

I will start off by being v. candid with you and open-up about some personal issues I have been plagued with over the past year. In addition to a negative-spirited "Bully Blogger" - whom I refuse to validate - continuing to discredit myself with all sorts of sensationalized disparaging remarks about me, another Individual who dislikes me greatly, has gone to great lengths to tarnish my name. He has contacted Publicists and Security Teams over the past year trying to thwart opportunities for me.

Over the past week I was contacted by Publicists on multiple occasions after arranging opportunities for me and my Blog.  They found it puzzling and disturbing to have received e-mails from this Individual with a fictitious e-mail address: springfever79@hotmail.com under the name "Brian Patterson" (real name: Kyle A.) - not to be confused with a local Entertainment Photographer of the same name. These e-mails allege that I am a "violent, dangerous offender" and include Photo attachments of me, taken and edited from my Blog. He has gone as far as to suggest that I should be kept away from those I am scheduled to interview. This Individual, who has a long-standing history of harassing others online - some including Minors, threatening to show-up at their Schools - has continued to exhibit disturbing behaviour despite requests for him to cease. It is confirmed that multiple Police Reports do indeed exist for him and that he has been blacklisted from certain venues around the City.

Yesterday when meeting some of the Boys from UK Boy Band The Wanted, their Security Guard Kevin had approached me, telling me "Somebody out there really dislikes you!" and proceeded to show me a similar e-mail he had received recently before other Witnesses.  I clarified to him that this actually was nothing new to me.  I have in the past for no apparent reason been shoved by Security Guards and told to leave venues without any explanation and now I understand fully the reason why.  I also had received reassurance from an Individual at The Wanted's Canadian Record Label indicating that they too had received a similar message and that they will not be actioning it, being fully aware of my Blog and support for their Artists.

THE WANTED ARRIVE IN TORONTO

The Wanted in Toronto - March 31, 2012
I can honestly say that in my many years of witnessing Celebrity Arrivals, this by the far was the craziest ever. Super-hot British/Irish Boy Band The Wanted have stamped themselves firmly as one of 2012's biggest Pop Sensations and in case you needed proof, the scene at Toronto's Pearson International Airport today said it all. Hundreds of Fans gave the Boys a warm welcome, singing in unison the Chorus from their hit Glad You Came, cheering loudly at random Passengers who came through the sliding doors in hopes that the next to arrive would be them.  And when the Band finally did appear, so did chaos.

Max, Nathan, Tom, Siva and Jay each had their own clusters of Fans crowding around them for Photos and Autographs as their Security Guards ushered them along.  Few Fans walked away disappointed even despite the pushing, shoving, screaming, tripping and falling.  Flower petals were scattered amidst puddles of Beer on the floor by the end of it all.  This is all the more impressive considering the Boys don't even have a full-length Disc out in North America yet - their debut EP is due April 24, 2012 via Universal Music Canada.

The Wanted are in Toronto for a Press Blitz on Monday and Tuesday which will see visits to Top 40 Stations, CP24, MuchMusic's New.Music.Live, CityTV's Breakfast Television and more.  In addition, they will be spending time with Fans at their Autograph Signing/Performance at Brampton's Bramalea City Centre on Monday.

I was fortunate enough to get some goofy Photo Ops with the handsome and modelesque Max, Nathan and Siva, who were generous in their time with Fans!

THE WANTED TO APPEAR AT BRAMALEA CITY CENTRE APRIL 2, 2012

The Wanted at Bramalea City Centre
Go, 905! Our Friends in Brampton finally get a little love and on Monday, April 2, 2012, Bramalea City Centre will be hosting an Autograph Signing with super-hot  U.K. Boy Band The Wanted.  The Event takes place at 6:00 PM at the Mall's Bay Court.  The first 300 Fans to pre-order their debut self-titled EP (out April 24, 2012) at HMV that day will get Wristbands to meet the Band. Above this, The Wanted also will be performing an Acoustic Set too, while MuchMusic's Jesse Giddings hosts.

Perhaps we'll be hearing their Track Glad You Came stripped down?  The Song that is - don't get all excited at once now!  One Direction and The Wanted both in Toronto within the span of a week?  Could it get any hotter than that?
