CAST OF "BACHELORETTE" AT SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL

One of the Films getting the most buzz already at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, is Bachelorette. The Comedy starring Isla Fisher, Kirsten Dunst, Lizzy Caplan, James Marsden and Bridesmaids Star Rebel Wilson, is written and directed by up-and-comer Leslye Headland.

Bachelorette which filmed last Fall in New York, has three Friends uniting to be Bridesmaids for a Girl they used to terrorize in High School with the name Pigface (Wilson).  No Distributor is attached to the Film yet, so it'll be interesting to see if it gets picked-up. Or perhaps we might see this one in September at TIFF?

ALEXANDER SKARSGARD & KIRSTEN DUNST AT TIFF FOR "MELANCHOLIA"

True Blood Fans rejoice! Alexander Skarsgård graced the Red Carpet Premiere of Lars von Trier's Melancholia at Ryerson Theatre tonight, in which he stars alongside Kirsten Dunst. That Actress, who also was in attendance, was the winner of the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival this past May for her performance in this Sci-Fi Thriller.

Although von Tier is noted for his fear of flying, Cast members including Kiefer Sutherland and Udo Kier made appearances this evening. Skarsgård however was most amazing to stop and pose for a Photo or two with Fans, while Dunst surprisingly had her Handler say to all in-waiting, "She won't be taking Photos with you", as she headed off into her Vehicle.  So much for me creating a Facebook Group in support of her big Comeback! LOL

"BACHELORETTE" - 2012'S "BRIDESMAIDS"?

If you loved Bridesmaids - and I know you did - chances are you'll be excited to see Will Ferrell-produced Comedy Bachelorette, which will hit theatres next year.  Currently filming in New York City, its premise centers around three Girls who are asked to be Bridesmaids at the Wedding of a Girl they bullied in High School, known as Pigface/Becky.

The Cast includes familiar faces like a hot-again Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher (The Wedding Crashers) and Lizzy Caplan (Mean Girls).  The role of Pigface/Becky goes to Australian Funnywoman Rebel Wilson, who also starred in Bridesmaids!  James Marsden and Adam Scott also star, while first-time Director/Writer Leslye Headland helms the project.

"THE TREE OF LIFE" AND KIRSTEN DUNST WIN BIG AT CANNES

Congratulations to Terence Malick for his victory at the Cannes Film Festival.  The shy Director's Feature The Tree of Life just received the coveted Palme d'Or Award for Best Feature; he was not on-hand to accept the Award.  Despite some "boos" having been heard at its Premiere in Cannes last week, it turns out that the Drama starring Sean Penn and Brad Pitt is a Critical Darling after all.  The Film gets a Canadian release on June 10, 2011.

In a surprising turn of events, Kirsten Dunst was awarded Best Actress for her work in Lars von Trier's Melancholia.  The Dancer in the Dark Director known best for tortured Heroines in his Films, recently generated a bit of controversy when he made some Anti-Semetic remarks he made, getting him banned from the Festival. Melancholia is a Sci-Fi Piece about two Sisters whose relationship is compromised as another Planet threatens to collide with Earth.

Melancholia is due in theatres November 4, 2011 and also stars Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kiefer Sutherland and Alexander Skarsgård.  The Film is garnering some controversy as Dunst appears fully nude for the first time ever in it after having publicly gone on the record to say that Pedro Almodóvar is the only Director for whom she would remove her clothing.  Expect this one to do the Festival rounds including a possible TIFF stopoff this September.

ALL GOOD THINGS - MOVIE REVIEW

The thing about Crime-Thriller All Good Things is that it could have been exceptional. The Cast and Acting are there, the Story is intriguing enough and Director Andrew Jarecki is more than capable of making a great Film - but it all falls flat.

Based on facts and evidence (old and new) surrounding a series suspicious disappearances and deaths spanning 1972 to 2003, the Story centers around David Marks (Ryan Gosling), Son of New York City Real Estate giant Sanford Marks (Frank Langella). David is a troubled type who displays obsessive tendencies and a need to please his demanding Father.  As a Child, he witnessed his own Mother's death and never fully recovers from the tragedy.  Somewhat of a Black Sheep, Mark also never really lives up to the high expectations his Father has of him, despite his incessant need to please him.  He meets Katie McCarthy (Kirsten Dunst) who is renting one of his Father's properties and falls in love with her. 

Genuinely in love with David, Katie realizes trouble is ahead when she becomes pregnant - without his support - and gradually it comes to light that The Markses might actually be involved in underhanded dealings. Their relationship becomes increasingly toxic and co-dependent.  Katie finds herself unable to leave David and is reliant on his funding her Medical School ambitions. Likewise, David is dependent on Katie, who feeds his obsession with control.   All good things come to an end as progressively their relationship becomes violent with David becoming threatened by Katie's success. 

Katie disappears, but despite all signs pointing to David being her Murderer, we wonder how it is that to this day he has avoided Conviction. From there, the Story cuts to the early 2000s where additional facts and evidence have been uncovered to warrant a re-opening of Katie's case.  We learn that David Marks, who today is a free man, might well be a ruthless Serial Killer with his ex-Wife possibly not being his only Victim.
