The Faces of Fan Expo 2012

As many as 80k Fans filled Metro Toronto Convention Centre this weekend for Fan Expo 2012 and with Line-ups queued reportedly running into the Building's Underground Parking Lot, inevitably several were left disappointed when word caught-on that Tickets were sold-out completely.

The likes of Gillian Anderson (The X-Files), Rose McGowan (Charmed), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk), James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Marvel Comics President/Chairman Stan Lee drew huge crowds.  Meanwhile, high-profile Guests to cancel late included the likes of Sam Trammel (True Blood), Patrick Stewart (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Jason Priestly and Luke Perry (both of Beverly Hills, 90210).

A special thanks to my dear Friend Catherine for the awesome Photos (above). She tells me with excitement, "Gillian Anderson looks great.  I think she's one of those few People who actually gets better looking with age!".

Film Distributors also got an opportunity to give a Sneak Preview of their upcoming Films including Walt Disney Studios Canada's Frankenweenie - the latest from Tim Burton in theatres October 5, 2012. An elaborate Exhibit featuring The Art of Frankenweenie was said to wow several Onlookers. Alliance Films also highlighted three of their Fall releases with highly-touted Horror, Resident Evil: Retribution (out September 15, 2012), Sinister (out October 5, 2012) and also Antiviral (out October 12, 2012), which is set to premiere at TIFF.

TORONTO COMICON 2012: CHARISMA CARPENTER, TIA CARRERE, KRISTANNA LOKEN, EDWARD FURLONG & MORE IN TORONTO

Bringing Fans of Sci-Fi and Animation together with their Idols once again, Toronto Comicon took place this weekend at Metro Toronto Convention Centre.  Among those Celebrities to attend this year were the likes of Tia Carrere (Relic Hunter, Wayne's World), Charisma Carpenter (Angel, Buffy), Edward Furlong (Termination 2: Judgment Day), Kristanna Loken (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machine), Peter Mayhew (Star Wars), Bruce Boxleitner (TRON) and more.

The three-day Convention gave Fans an opportunity to obtain Autographs, Photo Ops and attend Q&A Sessions. And in the event you missed this round, Fan Expo Canada will be taking place between August 23-26, 2012 with Guests like Patrick Stewart (Star Trek), Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter), Gillian Anderson (The X Files) and Director Kevin Smith slated to attend. Seaparetely Wizard World Toronto Comic Con will be taking place between April 14-15, 2012 at Metro Toronto Convention Centre also, with Talents Paul Wesley (The Vampire Diaries), Jeri Ryan (Star Trek: Voyager), Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap), Amy Acker (Buffy), Dean Stockwell (Quantum Leap) all set to appear.  Click here for more.

TOM FELTON IN TORONTO FOR FAN EXPO CANADA 2011

Tom Felton is living proof that the young Actors of the Harry Potter franchise can thrive after its conclusion back in July with the release of Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Pt. 2.  In addition to his internationally-recognizable work as Draco Malfoy, Felton already has a massive Box Office hit to his name in The Rise of the Planet of the Apes, currently in theatres.

Flying in from London on Thursday night, Felton allotted Fans some a Photo Op or an Autograph at $40 each at Fan Expo Canada 2011.  Surely he was one of the more in-demand names to appear at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre festivities, doing also a Q&A session with Fans this afternoon before heading off back home to London.

Felton can next be seen in Thriller The Apparition alongside Twilight's Ashley Greene and From the Rough with Academy Award-nominee Taraji P. Henson.  Amazingly nice, Felton arrived at the Airport with his Guitar in-tow, stopping to greet some Fans before checking-in for his flight.  The scenario yesterday at the Expo wasn't quite as friendly as some Accredited Press reported having been shoved by Felton's Handlers when trying to take Photos of him.  Not good.

HAYDEN PANETTIERE IN TORONTO FOR FAN EXPO CANADA 2011

The gorgeous Hayden Panettiere arrived in Toronto Thursday evening for a few days of Fan Fun at  Metro Toronto Convention Centre for Fan Expo Canada 2011.  And those who wanted to meet her surely were pleased that Photo Ops with the Heroes star were made available at a reasonable $45, while Autographs were only $30.

With reports of her Handler being rather nasty to Press at the Expo, including our good Friend @PlanetMaurie from KISS 92.5 who actually has a Video of himself being screamed at while requesting an interview, I can confirm that that this she was equally nasty today.  In fact, I witnessed Panettiere's Handler actually take her hand and try to block a Fan from getting a Photo with her Idol, after the Actress agreed to doing it.

Panettiere however was wonderful, agreeing to take a quick Photo, flashing me that beautiful smile and a wave as she headed off.  Although quiet of late, she will next be seen in the Drama Carmel alongside Josh Hutcherson, Lauren Bacall and Alfred Molina and also own Thriller Downers Grove which stars Pretty Little Liars' Lucy Hale and Twilight's Nikki Reed.

WILLIAM SHATNER IN TORONTO FOR FAN EXPO CANADA 2011

The legendary William Shatner flew into Toronto last night for one-day only appearance at Fan Expo Canada 2011.  The Actor, known best for his work in Star Trek as Captain James T. Kirk and more recently the Sitcom, $#*! My Dad Says.  Shatner was charging $80 for the choice of either a Photo Op or an Autograph today at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.  The Actor made a low-key entrance into the Airport from his Town Car, going unnoticed by many.

In addition to being seen on $#*! My Dad Says, Shatner divides his time also in Kentucky where he breeds Quarterhorses and Saddlebreds.

KATIE SACKHOFF IN TORONTO FOR FAN EXPO CANADA 2011

The gorgeous Katie Sackhoff made a visit to Toronto this weekend for Fan Expo Canada 2011 festivities, leaving this evening after meeting and greeting her legions of Fans, many who knew her best for her work on Cult Hit series, Battlestar Galactica. Sackhoff starred in the series as Captain Kara "Starbuck" Thrace.

Amazingly, Sackhoff was sweet enough to fit in one last Photo before flying home.  She can be seen next in Thrillers Sexy Evil Genius (Michelle Trachtenberg, Seth Green), out in 2013 and also The Haunting in Georgia (Chad Michael Murray, Cicely Tyson), which recently completed filming.

BARBARA EDEN & LARRY HAGMAN: AN "I DREAM OF JEANNIE" REUNION AT FAN EXPO CANADA 2011

I Dream of Jeannie stars Larry Hagman and Barbara Eden reunited in Toronto this weekend at Fan Expo Canada 2011 and they even left the City on the same flight after a tiring few days of meeting and greeting Fans. Hagman, who was charging $50 for a Photo with Fans and $30 for Autographs, actually was dressed in his downtime exactly like his Southern Oil Heir character J.R. Ewing on long-running Prime Time Soap Opera, Dallas. Complete with Cowboy Hat!

Eden at age 77 looked ravishing and glamorous in her nautical stripes and big Sunglasses, stopping to take one quick last Photo despite being in a rush to head home.  I was a huge fan of I Dream of Jeannie growing-up, watching it on a daily basis during Summer Break, so meeting her today was a bit like having a real-life Genie grant me a wish!

Tom Felton in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

Fan Expo Canada hits Toronto in just over a month. Will you be going? The Sci-Fi Expo in particular this year looks rather enticing with some great names added to the line-up of stars in attendance.

Scheduled this year are the likes of Tom Felton, Hayden Panettiere, Lee Majors, William Shatner, Eliza Dushku, Sam Trammell, Malcolm McDowell, Barbara Eden, Larry Hagman and more.

One-day Passes range from $25 to $40 depending on the day and the event takes place from August 25 to 28, 2011 at Metro  Toronto Convention Centre. Deluxe Passes are available at $75 apiece, allowing Fans unlimited access, excluding Special Ticket events.
