After some hot, sweaty dancing with Friends on Saturday night, I was graced with the presence of this Man on the Subway, sitting directly across from me.  

Such decadence needs to be celebrated. Make no mistake, this Man is my Hero. It takes true talent to double-fist Milkshakes. All that Lactose, all that Sugar at 1:00 AM. He's epic and he knows it.

Hottest, wettest Summer.  While out and about yesterday, I caught these Scarborough Geese utilizing some post-Thundershower Puddles in the Parking Lot as a Sitting Pool. I have never been so entranced. Love this.

Toronto's First Proper Snow - December 27, 2011

Snow at last! It came a couple days short of a White Christmas, but better late than never. Temperatures are expected to plummet with a Flash Freeze warning impacting much of Ontario overnight according to Environment Canada.

CROSSING THAT BRIDGE

This week I begin a new Phase in my Life as I am Blogging Full-time currently after having parted ways with my Day Job of 13 years.  It is a bit scary to be honest not having a Paycheque in my bank account every two weeks, but I am excited to see what Life has in-store ahead for me.  I know with everyone's positive thoughts and words I will make it through this time of self-questioning, so thank you for that. 

Today I had time to do something I haven't done in a while - just take a long walk on a beautiful day and simply reflect. My crossing the Bathurst Street Bridge was perhaps in ways metaphoric of where I am right now.

Fans Camp-out on Street in Toronto for MMVAs Wristbands

On Sunday, June 19, 2011 MuchMusic will be airing their MuchMusic Video Awards north and south of the Border.  What you will see is the glitz of Pyrotechnics, flashy choreographed Performances, bright lights and screaming Fans.  What you don't see is the reality of what Kids go through to get Wristbands into the two-hour Show.  

Fans lined-up as early as three days ago, adopting sections on the Sidewalks around the block of MuchMusic's Headquarters at Queen x John.  Seen were Kids dining on bags of Chips, Cookies, Pop and Jugs of Water, while seeking solace from the from the 34-degree celsius heat under makeshift Tents made with Plastic Tarps, Blankets and String.  

Barricades were lined with handmade Posters of Construction Paper with Photos of Lady Gaga glued-on,  showing their support for her.  Little do they know though that a Wristband doesn't guarantee them a chance to see their Idols-of-choice as the Event takes place across multiple stages on the Lot and their position in the line-up is dependent on where an Usher places them.

It's so lovely I couldn't resist.  One of the sights I look forwarded to seeing most every Spring in Toronto is the blossoming of the pink Crabapple Trees in the Village of Yorkville Park on Cumberland Avenue. In one of the rare days of Sunshine we've seen in a while, the sight of the Sun setting atop the Trees was breathtaking, even stopping patrons exiting a Sushi Shop as they stood in awe to admire the view.

Supermoon over Toronto - March 19, 2011

A Supermoon occurs when The Moon approaches The Earth closely. What results is a Moon which is 14% bigger and 30% brighter than normal like tonight. Spotting the Supermoon over Toronto was quite a sight this evening, but unfortunately because it is so bright, my Camera could not capture its details as beautifully as it should.

If you missed it tonight, don't worry - the next Supermoon will come November 14, 2016.  Mark your Calendars.

Okay, this secretly irritates me and I just had to snap a photo of it.  Ladies, please don't make your Man hold your Purse for you.  It's cruel and unusual punishment.  

Case in point - this shamed Boyfriend walking a safe distance behind his Girlfriend head ducked, as he holds her Gucci Bag for her. If your Purse is too heavy, perhaps it's time to de-clutter or simply find one that is lighter.  Just an idea.

TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE & WINTER SOLSTICE - DECEMBER 21, 2010

Total Lunar Eclipse - 2:30 AM EST

“There’s nothing I can do, a Lunar Eclipse of the Heart.” – Bonnie Tyler ….Okay, those aren’t the exact lyrics, but I’m sure Bonnie would approve of my loose adaptation.

As we all know, last night was the first time Winter Solstice had run in tandem with a Total Lunar Eclipse since 1638. The next time this will occur again is 2094 – in other words, most of us won’t see it unless there are great advances in medical technology prolonging our lives unforeseeably. Fingers crossed.



Total Lunar Eclipse - 4:45 AM EST

Beginning at approximately 2:30 AM EST and ending at approximately 5:00 AM EST, people around the world saw the Moon turn a Red/Amber colour and unfortunately at its finest moment, I fell asleep! I did track the Total Lunar Eclipse’s progress at 2:30, 4:45 and again at 7:10 and I must say it was v. odd seeing a full moon shining over the City while I had my morning Americano. *yawn*

Although I’m by no means an Astronomy Expert, NASA’s Dr. Tony Phillips explains that “You might expect Earth seen in this way to be utterly dark, but it's not. The rim of the planet is on fire. As you scan your eye around Earth's circumference, you're seeing every sunrise and every sunset in the world, all of them, all at once. This incredible light beams into the heart of Earth's shadow, filling it with a coppery glow and transforming the moon into a great red orb.” I couldn’t have in any way explained it better myself.

I did have a bit of struggle finding proper search results on Google not related to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, but I did finally locate some proper Photos on this Torontonian’s website.

Happy Saturday, Mavenati.  It's a beautiful day in the City.  I woke up with Billy gesturing to open the Blinds as he loves staring out the window.  And so I did.  This Morning marked our first proper Snowfall of the Winter and although only light, it's a remarkable sight isn't it?  Enjoy your day and your weekend.
