After debuting atop the UK Albums Chart with 116k copies sold, Lana Del Rey impressively finds herself in second spot back home in her native America this week with 77k copies of Born to Die tallied according to Nielsen SoundScan. Del Rey was second only to Adele's 21 which finds itself at the summit of the U.S. Billboard Hot 200 Chart for a 19th non-consecutive week. These results actually exceed expectations as HitsDailyDouble projected that she would sell approximately 60k copies only with fears that harsh reviews would adversely impact sales.
